June is a month of celebrating Cameron. Not only is it Men’s Mental Health Month, but it is also Cameron’s birthday, his Angel Day, and the month we have the honor of awarding the Cam’s Buds Scholarship.

On June 10th, family and friends gathered at Kennedy Park by Cameron’s bench to celebrate what would have been his 27th birthday. We shared his favorite cake, strawberry shortcake, and spent the evening remembering and celebrating the amazing person he was.

On June 17th, we came together once again at Cameron’s bench to honor his Angel Day. Surrounded by those who love and miss him, we released 24 butterflies in his memory, a beautiful tribute to Cameron and the lasting impact he continues to have on so many lives. Our favorite sign of Cameron is butterflies.

On June 18th, Cameron’s family attended Mainland Regional High School’s Senior Scholarship and Awards Night, where Cam’s Buds was proud to award Brett Daily a $2,000 scholarship. Brett will be continuing her education at High Point University, where she plans to major in Psychology. We wish her nothing but success as she pursues a career dedicated to helping others.

None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our family, friends, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who continues to stand behind Cam’s Buds. Thank you for making this scholarship possible and for joining us in celebrating Cameron on the days that mean the most.

Because of your support, Cameron’s legacy continues to live on, bringing hope, raising awareness, and making a difference in the lives of others. 🩵💜

💚 JUNE IS MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH MONTH 💚

Something that isn’t talked about enough:

Globally, men account for the majority of su***de deaths. Every year, more than 500,000 men lose their lives to su***de—a heartbreaking reminder that too many are suffering in silence.

• Around 525,000 men die by su***de each year
• Over 10,000 every week
• More than 1,400 every day
• Approximately 60 every hour
• Nearly 1 man every minute

For generations, many men have been taught that showing emotion is a weakness. They were told to “man up,” stay strong, hide their pain, and carry their struggles alone.

But the truth is:

💚 Men cry.
💚 Men experience trauma.
💚 Men struggle with anxiety and depression.
💚 Men self-harm.
💚 Men develop eating disorders.
💚 Men face body image challenges.
💚 Men experience abuse.
💚 Men experience heartbreak.
💚 Men go to therapy.
💚 Men need love, support, and understanding.

And most importantly:

💚 Men feel.

Research shows that men are often less likely to seek professional help when struggling, even though many are facing overwhelming emotional pain. That is why conversations about men’s mental health matter.

It is not unmanly to struggle.

It is not weak to ask for help.

It is not shameful to talk about your feelings.

This month, let’s check on the men in our lives—the fathers, brothers, sons, husbands, friends, coworkers, and neighbors who may be carrying burdens we cannot see.

To every man silently battling his mental health:

💚 We see you.
💚 You matter.
💚 Your feelings are valid.
💚 You do not have to carry everything alone.

Let’s encourage men to speak up, not just man up.

Because talking saves lives. 💚

Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible: the donors, everyone who helped fundraise, those who helped set up and clean up on the day of the event, and everyone who came out to support it. Bringing awareness to mental health and su***de prevention is our biggest goal, and your support means more than words can express. Together, we can continue encouraging conversations, supporting one another, and reminding people they are never alone. 🩵💜

The event marked the second annual benefit for Cam’s Buds Scholarship Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created in Cameron’s honor after his death by su***de on June 17, 2023.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

Take a moment to check in on the people who:
• never ask for help
• always seem happy
• have been quieter than usual
• always say “I’m fine”
• show up for everyone else

And don’t forget about yourself. Your mental health matters too. Make it a PRIORITY, not an afterthought.

You are not alone, and remember it’s okay to not be okay.🩵💜
