Lately, I’ve been struggling.
I’ve been questioning the progress of my business, wondering when all the energy, ideas, time, and heart I’ve been pouring into Inner Oasis will finally begin to bloom.
I keep telling myself to trust the timing.
To have faith.
To keep going.
But sometimes… it’s just hard.
Then I started thinking about hag stones.
A hag stone is a stone that has been shaped over time by water. Wave after wave. Current after current. Storm after storm.
The water slowly wears away at the stone until something beautiful is created—a natural hole right through it.
And historically, hag stones have been associated with luck, protection, and beauty.
That really spoke to me.
Because maybe the water isn’t destroying the stone.
Maybe it’s shaping it.
Maybe the closed doors, disappointments, delays, unanswered prayers, and moments when we wonder “What am I even doing?” aren’t proof that I’m failing.
Maybe they’re part of the process.
We often think progress should look like something obvious:
✨ More people showing up.
✨ More clients.
✨ More opportunities.
✨ More money.
✨ A long-awaited “yes.”
But sometimes progress is quieter.
Sometimes progress is learning patience.
Releasing old expectations.
Changing direction.
Becoming more resilient.
Discovering what truly matters.
Continuing to create even when nobody seems to be watching.
The most beautiful part of a hag stone is the hole.
The hole isn’t a flaw.
The hole is the story.
It’s evidence of everything that passed through it.
And maybe that’s what I need to remember right now.
I may not be able to see the opening yet.
Right now, I may just be feeling the waves.
But I don’t want to mistake “I can’t see what is happening” for “nothing is happening.”
So I’m going to keep moving.
Keep creating.
Keep believing.
Keep learning.
Keep putting love into what I do.
And I’m going to trust that perhaps this season isn’t breaking me.
Perhaps it’s shaping me into something I haven’t become yet.
Maybe someday I’ll look back at this season and realize…
the hole I thought was emptiness
was actually an opening.
With love,
