Sandra was born in Somerset, KY on August 28, 1948 to Christine Roy Frye and the late Kenneth Frye. She was always glad to be able to shorten her birth date by just saying 8/28/48 as she considered it a “rhyme” when she was very young. Sandra was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She attended all twelve years of grade school and high school on the grounds of the former Nancy High School, and she cherished her classmates both during school and the years after. Upon graduation, she went to Eastern Kentucky University and graduated with a degree in Social Work and a minor in Psychology.

Her first social work job was with the State of Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services in Lexington, KY. While in Lexington, KY, Sandra married and had her son, Kenny Rollins, divorced and moved to Somerset, KY with her son as a young child, to be closer to family. She transferred as a social worker for the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. She remained an employee for the same state agency for over 42 years, having been promoted several times. As she worked daily, she went to night school at Eastern KY University and earned her master’s degree in public administration, and this led to several promotions after that. She served all the Western KY counties and several Eastern KY counties prior to her retirement. She was always proud of the superior employees she supervised and remained friends with many after her retirement. She often recalled good memories of all the good employees in both Western Kentucky and several offices in Eastern Kentucky. Throughout the years, she supervised staff involved with Social Insurance staff and staff involved with Child Welfare.

She is survived by her mother, Christine Frye of Somerset; sister, Judy and David Coner of Franklin, IN; daughter-in-law, Chasity Rollins of Whiteland, IN; two grandchildren, Spencer Rollins and Sophia Rollins; and nephew, Matthew Frye of Franklin, IN.
