🚁 Scene Response | McCreary County

Today, our crew responded to a scene flight in McCreary County, working alongside our local first responders to provide rapid critical care and transport when every minute mattered.

We are grateful for the seamless teamwork between dispatch, EMS, fire, law enforcement, hospital staff, and everyone involved in caring for our patient. It truly takes a coordinated effort to bring advanced care to those who need it most.

☁️ Above the Clouds ☁️🚁

Yesterday’s flight gave us the opportunity to spend some time in the clouds with Pilot Jeff.

Flying under IFR requires precision, confidence, and a commitment to safety. Whether climbing through the clouds or breaking out on top, every flight is a reminder of the professionalism and skill it takes to operate safely in changing weather conditions.

Jeff is newer to flying IFR with PHI Air Medical, and he has been doing a fantastic job. His dedication to mastering every aspect of the job and maintaining the highest safety standards is evident every time we fly.

Today’s flights had us operating under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), where experience, teamwork, and precision make all the difference. When weather limits visibility, our pilots rely on advanced aircraft systems, ATC, and their extensive training to safely navigate to the patients who need us.

Today, we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy because of the courage and sacrifice of the brave men and women who have served our country. We are incredibly grateful for those who have defended our nation and continue to protect our communities every day.

As you gather with family and friends, we encourage everyone to celebrate safely:
☀️ Stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade to help prevent heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
🎆 Leave fireworks to the professionals whenever possible. If you are using legal consumer fireworks, keep a safe distance, supervise children closely, and have water or a fire extinguisher nearby.
🚑 Remember to check on children, older adults, and pets, who are especially vulnerable to the summer heat.
