🚁💛 While we had a great time visiting with everyone in Russell County today, we were also proud to answer the call when our community needed us.

Yesterday, PHI 7 responded to a request for service from Russell County Hospital, and today we had the opportunity to partner with Russell County EMS on a patient transport.

We truly enjoy working alongside our friends in healthcare and EMS. These partnerships are built on trust, teamwork, and a shared commitment to providing the best care possible for our patients.

Thank you to Russell County Hospital and Russell County EMS for your continued partnership. We are grateful for every opportunity to serve together.

⛳🚁 What a fantastic day spent with our community at the Russell County Hospital Golf Scramble!

PHI Air Medical was excited to sponsor and attend this great event. We were able to join in on the fun by landing the helicopter on-site, meeting golfers throughout the day, providing cold water to help everyone stay hydrated, and hosting a giveaway for participants.

A special thank you goes out to our entire PHI 7 team who helped make the day a success, and to Jagger, who we happily borrowed from SPCEMS for the event! We were also grateful to have Teddy, our membership representative, there to help share information about our membership program and connect with members of the community.

Did you know that two of our own crew members, Mackenzie and Brian, are proud Russell County residents and remain active crew members of the Russell County EMS roster? It is truly an honor to not only serve this community professionally but also to care for our friends, neighbors, and families when they need us most.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mandy Antle for helping coordinate this opportunity, as well as everyone from Russell County Hospital and Lakewood who worked so hard to make this event possible. Community partnerships like these are what make rural healthcare strong, and we are grateful to be a part of it.

Yesterday was a busy and rewarding day for PHI 7!

Our morning began with a region-wide Safety Stand Down, where aircraft were temporarily taken out of service so crews could focus on what matters most—safety. During this dedicated time, team members discussed our safety culture and Destination Zero, PHI’s commitment to achieving zero incidents and accidents through continuous learning, communication, and accountability.

We were also honored to host members of PHI leadership in our region. Our pilot, Justin, had the opportunity to showcase the beautiful communities we serve from above and discuss the important role air medical transport plays throughout Kentucky.

After returning to service, the crew completed two missions, working alongside our partners at Pulaski County EMS and Russell County Hospital to provide critical care when it was needed most.

From safety initiatives and leadership engagement to strong community partnerships and patient care, yesterday was a great example of the mission we strive to fulfill every day.

Thank you to all of our healthcare and EMS partners who trust us to serve alongside them.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

At PHI Air Medical, we are grateful for the courage, service, and dedication of those who gave everything to protect the freedoms we hold dear. Today, we remember our nation’s heroes and the families who continue to carry their legacy forward.

🚑💙 EMS Week Spotlight 💙🚑

Today we’re recognizing a few of the incredible providers we are thankful to work alongside at PHI Air Medical.

Brian and Joey continue to bring hard work, dedication, and teamwork to every call they respond to. Whether it’s long nights, difficult scenes, or everyday patient care, they consistently show up ready to serve their communities and support those around them. Their experience, professionalism, and willingness to always answer the call make them such an important part of our team.

We also want to give a special shoutout to Katrina, who is dual certified as both a paramedic and nurse, bringing both EMS and nursing together in such a unique and valuable way.

We’re thankful for each of these providers and all they do for the patients and communities we serve every day. Happy EMS Week! 🚁💙

🚑 Behind the Scenes 🚁

People often see the helicopter lifting off or the ambulance pulling onto a scene, but there’s so much that happens behind the scenes before and after every call.

The truck checks before sunrise.
Restocking supplies after long nights.
Cleaning equipment.
Charting late into the shift.
Preparing medications and gear.
Waiting for the next tone to drop.

EMS is more than lights and sirens — it’s dedication, teamwork, sacrifice, and constantly being ready for someone’s worst day.

This EMS Week, we want to recognize the hard work that happens when nobody is watching. Thank you to all the EMTs and paramedics who continue showing up for their communities every single day. We are proud to work alongside you. 💙
