Healing happens in relationships..

When children feel safe, supported, and understood, they develop the foundation to navigate life's challenges.

But what happens when those relationships are disrupted by trauma? And how can we help break the cycle for future generations?

At the Center for Great Expectations, we believe healthy relationships have the power to change lives.

Read our latest blog to learn how Early Relational Health can help shift intergenerational trauma and create healthier futures for mothers and children.

When we nurture healing relationships, the possibilities for brighter futures are limitless.

At The Center for Great Expectations, we see every day how powerful healing relationships can be. When mothers receive the care, compassion, and support they need, they can begin building healthier, more hopeful futures for themselves and their children.

We're so grateful to ROI-NJ for featuring CGE in its Mission-Driven Mondays series and helping share the importance of keeping mothers and children connected throughout the healing process.

We invite you to read the story and learn more about the work happening at CGE:

The Center for Great Expectations helps mothers and children heal from trauma and substance use through treatment, housing and family support.

What does it mean to be a safe person in a child's life?

For Nancy King, the answer came during story time at Katy's Place, CGE’s Child Development Center.

One little boy, who had been hesitant to come close, slowly began trusting her. Then one day, he quietly reached out and guided her hand onto a picture in the book they were reading.

Later, Nancy was told something she'll never forget:
"He's learned you're a safe person."

Sometimes the smallest moments remind us that healing happens in relationships. You can help create more moments like this.
