Last Friday, October 9, Behavior Therapy Associates had the pleasure of exhibiting at the Jersey Association of Special Education Partner Schools (NJASEPS) 47th Annual Conference!

Our Executive Director, Dr. Michael Selbst Ph.D. BCBA-D, LBA , and Marketing & Client Outreach Associate, Gagandeep Kaur, enjoyed connecting with educators, school professionals, and organizations across New Jersey.

Dr. Selbst also presented β€œEmotional Regulation Impairment: Best Practices for School-Based Support,” sharing strategies to support students with emotional regulation challenges in school settings.

It was a great opportunity to share information about our psychological and behavioral health services, school consultation, evaluations, and professional development opportunities while learning more about the work being done to support students and school communities.

A special thank you to Gianna McCloskey and the entire New Jersey Association of Special Education Partner Schools team for organizing such a wonderful event and welcoming us!

We appreciate the connections made throughout the day and look forward to continuing these conversations!

🧠 OCD Awareness Week: October 12–18!

OCD is often misunderstood, and many people may not realize how much it can interfere with everyday life.

For individuals with OCD, intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors are not simply preferences, habits, or personality traits. They can cause significant distress and impact functioning at home, at school, at work, and in relationships.

Increasing awareness helps reduce stigma and encourages individuals and families to seek appropriate support. Evidence-based treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), can be effective in helping individuals manage OCD symptoms.

Contact Behavior Therapy Associates to learn more about evaluation and evidence-based treatment for OCD and related concerns.
