At Safe+Sound Somerset, helping survivors find hope is at the core of our work. We exist so that survivors of domestic abuse or sexual violence never feel alone, and know that compassionate professional help is only a phone call or text away. Survivor advocates answer our call and text line 24 hours a day – 7 days a week – 365 days a year at 866-685-1122. Our helpline is the gateway to survivor ce

ntered services that can provide safety, hope and healing from the trauma of abuse and violence. Whether it’s a need for emergency safe housing, counseling, legal advocacy or education on healthy relationships, our services are available to everyone, regardless of income status, cultural or ethnic background, language spoken, gender identity or sexual orientation. All services are confidential and available at no cost. Adults and children who have experienced domestic or sexual assault and/or abuse have access to Safe+Sound Somerset’s high quality, trauma-informed intervention services that have been available to survivors in Somerset County for more than 40 years. Safe+Sound Somerset’s services are CONFIDENTIAL and offered at NO CHARGE.

This spring, Quest Program students at Oak Street School, in Bernard’s Township, chose Safe+Sound as one of their service project recipients. This year’s 5th grade class reached out to Safe+Sound and asked what they could do for the families in our program and a ‘Summer Fun” theme was chosen. Wading pools, water table, corn hole, bubbles and yard games are just some of the items the Quest students selected to create a fun and engaging environment for our residential families this summer.

The Quest students have been encouraged to find their passion and serve their community. The children asked meaningful questions about our programs and services and were truly engaged in the needs of the families we serve.

We hope to work with the Oak Street School and the Quest Program again and thank David Persily for helping to raise awareness among the students and faculty at the Oak Street School.

We’re seeking a Director of Business Development to lead client acquisition and earned-revenue growth across education, healthcare, corporate, and nonprofit sectors.

Safe + Sound Somerset is launching The Shift by SaSS, a fee for service training and consulting practice helping schools, healthcare systems, workplaces, and nonprofits build trauma informed, equitable cultures.
