Today is Luke’s hard launch. What started as gross injustice has resulted in a beautiful new beginning for this incredible little boy in his new school district. We are so grateful for the truly dedicated and hard-working people who made today possible. The world is yours now, buddy. 🥹

Luke surgery update: he is out of anesthesia and doing great! The big pieces of news today are happy ones. First, it sounds like Luke is a candidate for decannulation (getting rid of the trach) in a few years. That will be a process, but we’re here for it! The second piece of good news - a nearly perfect hearing test. Just as we suspected, Luke’s hearing is just fine and we can discontinue the hearing aids (which he hates) immediately.

We also got rid of what’s been termed “the worst granulation tissue” the surgeon has ever seen from around his g-tube site. It looks BEAUTIFUL. 🤩 His teeth are perfect again - no more iron spots. All in all, a great day for this little man! Heading home soon. ❤️

Bronchoscopy, dental treatment, hearing test, bloodwork, and granulation tissue removal today. Waiting rooms are the worst.
