Hats off to this little guy who graduated from speech therapy today!! 🎓🎉 I knew his mother and I were making the right decision when he told me, “I park the car in the garage”, at just 2 years old. Way to go, buddy!! So proud of you! 👨🏻‍🎓🥳

7 patients and home by 1:30 to spend the rest of the day with my family. 💙 I do my documentation, billing and business side of things after the kids go to bed.

🎤 Voice lesson of the day… from an SLP who apparently needs an SLP. 🤪

Watch closely. 👀
See those white-looking bumps on the edge of each of my vocal folds that are keeping my vocal folds from achieving complete closure during phonation? Those are vocal nodules — small, callus-like bumps that form from overuse and/or trauma.

My voice has been hoarse for about two months, so I finally went to an ENT to have my vocal folds scoped to figure out why. And there they were!

So what’s the plan?
💧 Hydration
🗣️ Vocal abduction exercises
🤫 As much vocal rest as possible
👩‍⚕️An appointment with an SLP that specializes in voice. Thanks to for her expertise!

Even we speech-language pathologists need reminders to practice what we preach. 😉
