🐇We’re celebrating Rabbit Awareness Week 2026 and the event's 20th anniversary.
This year’s theme is "Feeding Bunnies Better." An unbalanced diet can lead to obesity and/or dental disease.

Top six pet rabbit diet and food tips from the RVC Exotics team:
☑️75- 80% of their diet to be good-quality hay or grass
☑️Ideally free access to grass or offering at least a rabbit-sized amount of hay to your rabbit daily
⚠️Lawnmower clippings should never be used as they can ferment rapidly and may contain petrol residues
⚠️Use small quantities of commercial foods. Rabbits tend to pick out the only the bits of muesli which they like best. Complete pellet diets are preferred.
🌱Greens, weeds and herbs should make up the remainder of the diet (see our online factsheet for more info)
🍏Fruits should only be fed as an occasional treat due to their high sugar content

May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month. As canine Lyme risk continues to expand across parts of the U.S. and Canada, vaccination conversations may look different than they did even a few years ago.

The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines note that Lyme vaccination should be considered for dogs that live in or travel to endemic or emerging risk regions, especially those with outdoor exposure to Ixodes ticks.

Vaccination should also be paired with an effective ectoparasite prevention program to help reduce disease transmission risk.
