Please join us in congratulating James “Jimmy” Williamson, security officer at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital, on being recognized as Officer of the Year at the recent Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Banquet.

The CIT Officer of the Year Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication, compassion, professionalism, and leadership in crisis intervention and mental health response. CIT training equips first responders and public safety professionals with the tools needed to safely and effectively assist individuals experiencing mental health crises, while promoting de-escalation, understanding, and community collaboration.

Jimmy’s commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for our patients, visitors, and team members reflects the values we strive to uphold every day at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. We love seeing our team members supporting initiatives that help strengthen the health and wellness of our community beyond the hospital walls.

Thank you to Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital employees Wendy Thompson, Deshonta Roberts, and Wendy Crews for volunteering during the Healthy Harvest Community Garden’s May 15 planting day. Their efforts helped support another successful planting day as volunteers planted four rows of cucumbers.

We are proud of the dedication our employees continue to show throughout the community and thankful for partnerships like the Healthy Harvest Community Garden that help make a difference across Halifax County.

During Hospital Week, May 10–16, Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital proudly celebrated the incredible employees who make a difference in the lives of our patients and community every day.

Throughout the week, team members enjoyed a variety of appreciation events designed to recognize their hard work, compassion, and dedication. From shared meals and sweet treats to fun activities and fellowship, Hospital Week was an opportunity to thank the people who help make SHRH such a special place.

Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital was proud to stand alongside our community this weekend in support of the Halifax County Cancer Association’s 22nd Annual Walk for Hope.

Events like Walk for Hope are a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together to support patients, survivors, caregivers, and families impacted by cancer. We are honored to support initiatives that bring hope, encouragement, and resources to those who need them most.

A special thank you to our dedicated Sentara team members who volunteered their time and represented SHRH throughout the event. Your compassion, community spirit, and commitment to improving health every day continue to make a meaningful difference both inside and outside our hospital walls.
