We're excited to welcome two doctors into new roles at Bronson! Dr. Robert Nicholson IV has been appointed System Chief of Staff, and Dr. Jennifer Timmons has joined the Board of Directors as System Vice Chief of Staff. These leadership roles ensure the perspectives of providers and the needs of patients remain front and center in conversations that shape the future of Bronson and the communities we serve.

We're also grateful to Dr. William Workman as he completes his term as Chief of Staff after four years of service on the Board.

Join us in congratulating Dr. Nicholson and Dr. Timmons, and thanking Dr. Workman!

At Bronson, we recognize the importance of honoring the voices, talents and experiences of every person. This month, we’re raising awareness, challenging stigma and reinforcing our commitment to building a culture where everyone feels seen, supported and well cared for. Bronson’s multidisciplinary amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) clinic is the only program of its kind in southwest Michigan, providing patients a full team of specialists in one visit. This reduces travel, improves coordination and ensures care is aligned at every stage of the disease.

On clinic days, providers from across specialties come together at the Bronson Neuroscience Center to review care plans, answer questions and provide support. This includes neurology, rehabilitation, respiratory care, nutrition, social work and partners such as the ALS Association.

Check out these photos to see the team in action during a recent clinic day and the level of coordination behind each visit.

Congratulations to Bronson’s President & CEO, Bill Manns, on receiving the 2026 MHA Healthcare Leadership Award! This award recognizes leaders making a meaningful difference in healthcare, and Bill’s leadership over the past six years has helped guide Bronson through challenge, growth and change across our region.

From expanding access to care to achieving a historic reduction in the black infant mortality rate in Kalamazoo County, Bill's focus on supporting our teams and communities continues to shape what care looks like in southwest Michigan. It’s a reflection of what we see every day across Bronson – people working together to create Health in Harmony.

We’re proud to see his leadership, and the impact of Team Bronson, recognized at the state level. Watch the video below to hear from those who experience his leadership every day.

Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the U.S. and reminds us why equity and access still matter today. As the region’s leading healthcare organization and largest employer, this work is ongoing and requires listening, building trust and helping ensure every person receives the care and support they need.

Tomorrow, Team Bronson will be out in the community celebrating and connecting. As proud sponsors of three local Juneteenth events, we’d love to see you there:
📍Battle Creek: Juneteenth Celebration (Claude Evans Park)
📍Kalamazoo: Rooted Juneteenth Celebration (Bronson Park)
📍South Haven: Boots on the Ground Celebration (Elkenburg Park)

Stop by, say hello and join us in honoring this important day.
