You shut down. They want to hash it out right away.

It’s not that one of you cares more. You just learned to cope with hard moments in different ways, probably long before this relationship started.

Space isn’t rejection. Talking it out isn’t neediness. They’re just two different roads to the same place: feeling okay again.

Try naming your style before the next hard moment hits. It changes everything.

Which one are you, the space seeker or the talk it out now person? Tell us below.

Guilt and shame feel almost the same. But they are not.

Guilt says “I did something bad.”
Shame says “I am bad.”

One of those you can fix. The other just makes you want to disappear.

Next time that heavy feeling hits, ask yourself which one you’re actually dealing with. It changes everything about what to do next.

Which one shows up more for you, guilt or shame? Tell us below.

That restless feeling isn’t a mood problem. It’s energy your body made and never got to use.

Your nervous system doesn’t know the difference between a deadline and a threat. It still gears up the same way. Ready to run. Ready to fight.

When that energy has nowhere to go, it doesn’t just disappear. It shows up as snapping, spiraling thoughts, or feeling wired and tired at the same time.

Moving your body isn’t about fitness here. It’s giving that energy an exit.

Shake it out. Walk it out. Let your body finish what it started.

What does restless energy look like for you? Tell us below.

Your teen comes home from the first week of school and gives you nothing. One word answers. Closed door. And you’re left wondering if you did something wrong.

You didn’t. This is what growing up looks like from the outside.

Their world just got bigger. Yours can still be part of it, just differently than before.

What’s one small way you try to stay connected with your teen when they go quiet? 👇

We asked a few of our therapists what they love most about their clients. Here’s what they said. 💛

When you write down what we say in session, because it mattered enough to remember.

When you tell us “I heard your voice in my head” outside of session.

When you say “that’s so helpful” and we can see it land.

When you say “I’ve never thought of it that way before.”

When you tell us a story and we get to reflect back how far you’ve come.

And maybe our favorite: when you figure something out on your own, something we’ve been hoping you’d get to all along.

Being part of that process is the best part of this job.

The first few weeks back to school are rough. Not because you’re doing it wrong. Because every brain in your house is adjusting to a brand new set of rules.

New wake times. New homework routines. New practice schedules. That takes energy, and it’s normal to feel more tired, more snappy, more forgetful right now.

Pick one thing to keep steady this week. It’ll help more than you think.

What’s the hardest part of the back to school transition for your family this year? 👇

Some days aren’t sad. They’re just empty. And that can feel even harder to explain.

Movement won’t force a feeling to show up. But it can crack the door open a little. A hand on your chest. A sway. A walk you didn’t plan. Small signals to your body that say you’re still here.

You don’t need a big breakthrough today. Just one small flicker is enough.

When have you felt numb instead of sad? Tell us below.
