5 hills we’re willing to die on as a team of midwives and OBs.

This is the beauty of a collaborative care model — you truly have options. 💜

Come meet our team at the next tour, if you’re curious about our care model.

Sorry but heartburn during pregnancy has nothing to do with how much hair your baby has. 🤓

It’s actually caused by a combo of bodily changes — the hormone progesterone relaxing the valve between your esophagus and stomach, and your growing uterus pushing upward and putting pressure on your stomach as baby gets bigger.

This is why it doesn’t matter what eat at times and still end up with heartburn.

Unfortunately, heartburn is just common and no indication of how much hair this baby will have.

Pregnancy moves fast. Here’s a quick check-in. ✔️
Consider this your gentle nudge.

Childbirth education, feeding support, your birth team, and a provider who actually makes you feel seen — these are the essentials of care.

And if something doesn’t feel right with your current care? It’s not too late to explore other options. Tours are always open at Moxie Birth.

“Feeding a baby is a team sport.” Kate said it best.

Building your support team before baby arrives — a partner who understands your goals, people who show up with open hearts, a lactation consultant in your corner — makes all the difference in those early days.

Because how it all plays out isn’t totally within your control. But laying a strong foundation with people you trust is.

Join us this Friday at Feeding Together, our monthly drop-in infant feeding support group, led by Kate Zachary, IBCLC. Whether you’re pregnant and preparing or in the thick of it right now, you’re welcome here.

Just a reminder that breastfeeding is a learned skill. Not something that just happens. It’s a skill for both of you and baby.

This is Kate, our Director of Lactation and IBCLC, walking a new mom through getting a good latch.

Happy World Breastfeeding Week to every parent who tried, asked for help, tried again and fed their baby.

Early labor is the time to rest.

Eat something nourishing. Drink water. Watch a show. Sleep if you can. The work is coming — you don’t need to rush to meet it.

Early labor can last hours, sometimes longer. The families who arrive at the birth center well-rested and nourished have so much more to work with when things get intense.

Let your body warm up. Trust the process. We’ll be here when it’s time. ✨

Are you avoiding your cervical screening? You’re not alone. Many people skip their Pap smear and there are real reasons why.

Past trauma, painful experiences, feeling dismissed by providers are just a few barriers to care. But that shouldn’t stand between you and your health.

Cervical cancer is largely preventable with regular screening. But getting there has to feel safe first.

Swipe to learn what trauma-informed cervical care actually looks like and what you can ask for at your next appointment.

At Moxie Birth, we go at your pace. Always.
