There are still so many myths surrounding hormone therapy, and I’m here to help separate fact from fiction.
As a clinician, my goal isn’t just to know the difference. It’s to help you understand how we got to the answer in the first place.

In this series, I’ll break down some of the most common claims about HRT and share what the evidence, research, and current medical understanding actually tell us.

Because you deserve more than outdated information or internet myths. You deserve care rooted in evidence-based medicine, the latest research, and a clear understanding of the “why.”

We love looking for the next supplement, medication, or “hack” to fix how we feel.

But sometimes the most important thing to look at is the thing we’ve been neglecting the longest: sleep.

If you’re consistently exhausted, craving sugar and carbs, struggling with your weight, feeling more irritable, or relying on caffeine to get through the day, I want to know what your nights look like.

Sleep isn’t just about feeling rested. It plays a role in appetite regulation, metabolic health, mood, hormone balance, recovery and so much more.

And if you’re not sleeping because something else is going on—stress, perimenopause, hot flashes, anxiety, sleep apnea, medications, etc.—then that’s the problem we need to investigate.

Don’t just treat the symptom. Ask why it’s happening.
Sometimes the best “health hack” is going back to the basics.

If your supplement cabinet looks like a pharmacy, this is for you. 😅

I see so many patients come in with bags full of supplements asking, “Do I really need to take all of these?”

My answer? Probably not.

More supplements don’t automatically mean better health. In fact, taking too many can create unnecessary “polypharmacy,” and certain ingredients can interact with medications or with each other.

If you’re taking a supplement for a specific health goal, I want you to ask three questions:

1️⃣ Does it actually contain the ingredient I’m looking for?
2️⃣ Is it providing a therapeutic dose?
3️⃣ Will my body actually absorb it properly?

That last one is often overlooked. It’s not enough for an ingredient to be listed on the bottle—it needs to be delivered in a form your GI tract can properly absorb.

Supplements can absolutely have a place in a thoughtful health plan. But the goal shouldn’t be to take *more.* It should be to take **what you actually need, in an effective form and dose.**

Always talk with your healthcare provider before adding supplements, especially if you’re taking medications or multiple products.

Progesterone is to women what testosterone is to men, a powerful hormone that plays a much bigger role than most women realize.

It’s not just about fertility. Progesterone supports sleep, mood, brain health, reproductive health, and hormone balance. And yet, it’s one of the most overlooked hormones in women’s health.

If you’re dealing with anxiety, restless sleep, PMS, or changes in your cycle, progesterone may be part of the conversation worth having.

BREAKING PEPTIDE NEWS 👀

The FDA recently reviewed several well-known peptides that have been studied and used in the medical and research community for years.

The committee recommended that six of them move toward being eligible for compounding through pharmacies.

That includes BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, MOTS-c, Epitalon and Semax.

While this is not the same as full FDA approval just yet, it’s a major step in the right direction.
Why am I excited about it?

Because these aren’t brand-new compounds that suddenly appeared overnight. Many have been studied for years, and we’re finally seeing movement toward bringing them into a more regulated medical setting.

I’m hopeful this means better quality control, better access, and ultimately more opportunities to study these peptides properly and understand where they can truly benefit patients.

The peptide conversation is changing, and I think that’s a very good thing. 👏

I’ll be watching closely as the FDA makes its final decisions.

I hear this more often than I wish I did.

“I went to my doctor. I went to my gyno. No one could really help me.”

Then a woman comes to me years into feeling exhausted, disconnected from herself, sleeping poorly, struggling with libido, and wondering if this is just what getting older feels like.

This review really stayed with me because she described going from feeling “blah, tired, old” to feeling more energetic than she did in her mid-30s.

That’s the part of menopause care that matters to me.

Not chasing perfection. Not making women feel like something is wrong with them. Just helping them feel like themselves again.

Here’s something I tell my patients every day:

Don’t focus on losing weight.
Focus on keeping your muscle.

As we age—and especially during perimenopause and menopause—we naturally lose muscle unless we actively work to preserve it.

Two of the most powerful tools?
🥩 Eating enough protein.
🏋️ Resistance training consistently.

Your future self will thank you for every bit of muscle you protect today.

Perimenopause is a real hormonal transition that can begin years before menopause, often in your late 30s or 40s. Symptoms can come and go, evolve over time, and aren’t always reflected on standard lab work.

You don’t have to accept feeling “off” as your new normal.

Understanding what’s happening is the first step. Having a personalized plan to support your hormones is what helps you start feeling like yourself again.
