Looking Up at the Trees
Sometimes the shift we need is simply to look up.
Trees have a way of reminding me to slow down, take a breath, and notice what is around me.
Their roots stay grounded while their branches move with the wind.
A simple reminder that we can be grounded and still be flexible.

A yellow-and-black butterfly resting on hollow Joe-Pye w**d.

One of those moments I might have missed if I wasn’t slowing down and paying attention.

There is something special about watching a butterfly pause. No rushing. No checking the next thing off the list. Just resting exactly where it is.

A gentle reminder for me, too:

**We are allowed to pause.**

Sometimes slowing down is where we notice the beauty that was already there.

09/02/2026

Beginning September, I’m expanding my Nature-Informed Therapy availability with dedicated Monday and Wednesday morning appointments, along with select weekend sessions.

These two-hour sessions create more space to slow down, explore what you’re working through, and incorporate nature-informed practices such as mindfulness, grounding, movement, reflection, journaling, and nature-based metaphors.

Nature isn’t simply the setting. It can become part of the therapeutic process.

**Limited fall availability.**

I’m excited to share that I’ve joined the Venture Trails community through the Center for Nature-Informed Therapy as I continue my mentorship and professional development in Nature-Informed Therapy.

After completing my Nature-Informed Therapy certification this past July, I knew I didn’t want my learning to stop there. I want to continue growing, deepen my understanding of nature-based approaches, and learn alongside professionals who have been doing this work longer than I have.

I’m especially looking forward to being part of a community of like-minded professionals who are exploring how nature can become a meaningful partner in the therapeutic process. Venture Trails offers opportunities for continued learning, consultation, resources, and connection with others doing this work.

One of the books now joining my ever-growing coffee table stack is The Ground Beneath Our Work: Nature-Informed Therapy and Care for a World in Need by Dr. Heidi Schreiber-Pan, founder and executive director of the Center for Nature-Informed Therapy.

I’ve already found Dr. Schreiber-Pan’s work meaningful through her book Taming the Anxious Mind, which I’ve incorporated into my therapeutic practice, so I’m looking forward to diving into this next book.

What really caught my attention is the idea of returning to nature—not simply using nature as a backdrop, but recognizing the living world as a partner in care.

That idea continues to shape the way I think about therapy.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep learning, stay curious, and continue finding ways to bring nature into my work and into the community I serve.

The learning continues.
The trail continues.
And I’m excited to see where it leads.

Common Selfheal
I’ve been playing with iNaturalist lately, and it’s making my nature walks even more interesting.
Today’s discovery: Common selfheal.
It’s easy to walk past a small plant without giving it much thought. But when I slow down, take a closer look, and learn what I’m seeing, the trail becomes a little more interesting.
There’s something about being curious in nature that pulls me out of my own head and into the present moment.
A reminder that mindfulness doesn’t always have to look like sitting still and meditating.
Sometimes it’s simply stopping to notice what’s growing right beside you.
What would you discover if you slowed down and looked a little closer?

🤍 2 WEEKS UNTIL WOVEN 🤍

What if you gave yourself permission to pause?

Not because everything is falling apart.
Not because you have to “fix” something.
But simply because you deserve space to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

On **September 10**, Woven Women’s Wellness Circle begins.

Woven is a five-session seasonal experience created for women who are craving meaningful connection, intentional reflection, and a supportive space to simply be themselves.

Throughout the fall, we’ll gather virtually for conversations, mindfulness practices, reflection, and opportunities to explore the different seasons of our lives.

And we’ll finish our time together with an **in-person closing gathering at Gemini Sisters Farm**—a chance to step away from the screen, gather in nature, and celebrate the connections we’ve created.

**Woven Women’s Wellness Circle**
September 10 – November 7
Thursdays | 6:00–7:30 PM
Virtual sessions via Google Meet
In-person closing gathering: November 7 at Gemini Sisters Farm

This is for the woman who:

• Is constantly taking care of everyone else and rarely pauses for herself
• Wants deeper, more meaningful connection
• Is navigating a transition or simply wondering, “What’s next for me?”
• Wants to reconnect with herself
• Enjoys mindfulness, reflection, nature, and honest conversation
• Is looking for community without judgment or pressure

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you join us.

You just need to show up as you are.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to make a little more room for yourself this season, **maybe this is it.**

🌿 Space is limited.

After years of hustling, I thought what I needed was more time. But when I transitioned into private practice full-time, I discovered that having more time required me to learn something entirely different: how to slow down, listen to my body, create space, and intentionally build a life beyond work. Through walking, nature, rest, and my journey as a newly certified Nature-Informed Therapist, I’m learning that time doesn’t always need to be productive to be meaningful.
