Recently, we held another stroke education presentation to the residents of Dirigo Pines about how a stroke can affect different lobes of the brain. Angela, BSN, RN, SCRN, Northern Light Stroke Care manager, Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, led the discussion and answered great questions from the residents.

Recently, we held a provider social event to discuss hospice care services in Aroostook County with providers and leaders from Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital. Carl Flynn, MD, our hospice physician at the Aroostook House of Comfort, and Abbey Clair, LCSW, executive director of the Aroostook Hospice Foundation, educated, shared resources, and answered questions about hospice services, including at the Aroostook House of Comfort.

Thank you to everyone who attended and for the thoughtful conversations surrounding patient end-of-life care.

The Aroostook House of Comfort, situated centrally in Aroostook County and recognized as the sole inpatient hospice facility north of Augusta, is owned by the Aroostook Hospice Foundation.
