5 Ways to Support Your Midlife Metabolism
1. Protect your muscle.
Strength training becomes increasingly important in midlife. Muscle supports strength, mobility and metabolic health.
2. Prioritize protein and whole foods.
Build meals around quality protein, vegetables, fiber and healthy fats instead of simply focusing on eating less.
3. Pay attention to sleep.
Poor sleep can affect hunger, activity levels and the food choices we make the following day.
4. Move every day.
Walking counts! Combine regular movement with resistance or strength training whenever possible.
5. Don't overlook your hormones.
If weight changes are happening alongside hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood changes, brain fog or other symptoms of menopause, it may be time to look at the bigger hormonal picture.
