In recognition of the escalating cost of home care and the desire of elders to age in place in home-like settings, the homesharing model was developed as an alternative to expensive home care and equally expensive medical, institutional settings. The Homesteads at Owls Head rent rooms to individuals who desire this accommodation. Home health care is provided, when needed, by ASK… for Home Care, a licensed home health care provider, or other individuals or providers, including services that may be covered by insurance.
