What a beautiful afternoon at Pomperaug Woods! 🇺🇸🎶

This past Sunday, residents gathered on the lawn by the outdoor pavilion as Chip Zellner & The Berkshire Jazz Orchestra helped us celebrate Flag Day with an unforgettable performance. The big band jazz, summer breeze, and wonderful company made for the perfect afternoon.

From toe-tapping music to smiling faces all around, it was a fantastic day. 💙

Megan puts so much thought into creating wellness programs that residents enjoy and look forward to. As she shared, consistency is important because it feels stable and reliable, while familiar music and meaningful conversation help keep residents engaged.

Saturday afternoons in the Garden Room are for cards, conversation, and a little friendly bluffing. ♠️♥️

Our longtime weekly poker group gathers for 7-card stud, where the stakes are low — just dimes — but the camaraderie is priceless. For many residents, it’s become a favorite Saturday tradition and a chance to relax, laugh, and enjoy time together.

As resident Joe Regan shared, “I had never played poker before. I tried a new hobby, and I’ve had a ball ever since!”

That’s life at Pomperaug Woods: familiar faces, new interests, and meaningful connections around every table. 💙
