Safe Kids Oakland County and Henry Ford Health will be at the Oak Park Farmers Market (14100 Oak Park Blvd, Oak Park, MI 48237) on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. for their Family Market Day. Be sure to stop by our booth and play our "Spot the Difference - Road Safety Challenge" game. We will have giveaways and resources on water safety, car seats, and bike/pedestrian safety.

Dangerous new social media trend that could leave children with severe burns. Videos are circulating showing “NeeDoh Nice Cubes” being heated in the microwave to soften them – they can burst and have caused dangerous burns from the heated gel inside.

Safe Kids Oakland County is proud to be partnering with Another Way Pregnancy Center in Farmington Hills to offer a new location for car seat installation checks. Inspections are done by a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician on the1st Monday and 3rd Wednesday each month (10:00 AM - 3:30 PM) by appointment only. Free family fun this Saturday! 🎉 On Saturday, June 6 from 1 PM – 4 PM for an afternoon of activities all along 9 Mile (from Scotia to Hyland) in Oak Park.

Out of an abundance of caution, and with safety as our top priority, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule this Saturday’s Family Fun Fest on 9 Mile. 💔While forecasts vary on the exact timing of the rain, many models are predicting scattered thunderstorms and high winds. Because this is a fully outdoor event featuring metal tents, we cannot safely operate under these conditions. Please mark September 12th on your calendar for a last summer hurrah on 9 Mile!
