We get it, registries are fun! The amount of baby clothes and cool gadgets you can add is never ending, literally.

But what about you? That’s often a question we’ll ask. How are you planning & preparing for your postpartum.? Let’s not forget about the major role you have and the transformation you experience during the first few weeks, into the first year.

⬇️ below are a few ways to include *yourself* on the registry:

• Include gift cards for door dash, local restaurants
• Ask guests to bring prepared freezer meals instead of books or cards
• Adding a birth and/or Postpartum Doula to the registry
• Setting up an IBCLC visit for after birth
• Prenatal or Postpartum Massage
• Adding a local house cleaner, or laundry service to registry

⭐️ Something we’re super excited about is, adding to your registry or wish list. A space in Ferndale where you can go and experience postpartum support by a staff of doulas. Focusing your time on recovery, rest, nourishment, connection and normalizing all the things postpartum brings.

Being asked to join someone into their journey of motherhood (or parenthood) is an incredible experience, so much so that I truly struggle to find the words to express what it means. But being asked to join previous families for their subsequent birth or postpartum journey is such real an honor.

In 2019 I was able to support this family as they welcomed their first child. In the weee hours this morning, with the brightest full moon in the sky, I was once again able to support this family as they welcomed their second child earth side.

Wow, it’s been over a year for the last social media post 🙃 but, my team and I haven’t stopped supporting families along their perinatal journey! If anything, we’ve been busier than ever.

To recap our support for 2022:

18 postpartum families
12 birthing families
7 lactating families

This could not have been done without the support of fellow doulas that worked alongside me under The Stork’s Doula.

2022 was a wild ride, professionally and personally! My family and I welcomed our second child, our daughter Birdie, at 33 weeks premature. We experienced a couple nicu stays between birth, RSV, parainfluenza AND rhino-viruse. Navigated life with a toddler, an NG feeding tube, learning to breastfeed all while doing my very best to ensure The Stork’s Doula continues supporting families in need. Social media was the one spaces (among a lot of laundry and messy moments in my house) that had to take a very very back seat but I am so thankful you all are here with me!

I’m so excited to see what 2023 holds, definitely more birthing families and newborn babies as we are already fully booked into April. Please be sure you reach out if you are looking for resources or support!

For Small Business Saturday, I have some very exciting news!I have been working SO hard on a private prenatal breastfeeding class and I am now ready for bookings. 🙌🏼

Here are the details:

🌼This class is 2.5 hours long and will be conducted either in your home (if you are within an hour of Hartland, MI) or virtually, whichever works best for you and your family.
🌼 It will cover several topics, from how the body makes milk, latch, positioning, the basics of milk supply, pumping, bottle feeding and more!
🌼I incorporate visuals, videos, and positioning practice to help you feel as confident as possible before baby arrives.
🌼It is very important to me that this class is tailored to YOU. We will discuss your specific concerns or any prior breastfeeding experiences that did not go as planned.
🌼I highly encourage you to attend with your spouse, partner or a support person so they can learn the info along side you and also learn how to best support you.
