We’re bringing the community together for an afternoon of great chili, friendly competition, family fun—and a cause that means a lot to us.

Join us Saturday, October 17th for PPDC’s Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser! Taste chili from our contestants, vote for your favorite, enjoy pumpkin painting for the kids, grab some homemade treats, and see who takes home the title. 🏆

🎄 All proceeds support PPDC’s 6th Annual Children’s Christmas Extravaganza, helping us create a special Christmas celebration for local children and families.

Progress looks different for everybody.

For one person, it might be speaking up more. For someone else, it’s sticking to a routine, trying something new, asking for help, or simply showing up on a hard day.

Those moments count.

At PPDC, we meet people where they are and give them the space, support, and encouragement to grow at their own pace.

There’s no timeline you have to follow. No one else’s progress you need to measure yourself against.

Support shouldn’t stop when the appointment ends.

People need community. They need routine. They need somewhere they feel respected, welcomed and valued.

Sometimes support looks like learning a new skill. Sometimes it’s getting out of the house, joining a group, building confidence or simply having somewhere to go where people know your name.

That’s the work we do at PPDC.

We meet people where they are, without judgment, and create space for them to keep moving forward in ways that matter to them.

Because everyone deserves dignity, connection and a place to belong.

That’s why PPDC matters.

Maybe some things that seem easy for other people feel harder for you.

Maybe you’re still figuring out your routine, your relationships, your independence, your mental health—or simply what comes next.

You are still allowed to be proud of the progress you’ve made.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you deserve community.

You don’t have to become a different person before you deserve respect.

And you don’t have to move at someone else’s pace for your progress to count.

Start where you are.

Learn what you can.

Ask for help when you need it.

Keep showing up for yourself.

What does making a difference look like?

It doesn’t always look dramatic.

Sometimes it’s someone having somewhere meaningful to go today.

Someone practicing a skill until they can do a little more independently.

Someone becoming comfortable enough to join the conversation instead of sitting on the outside of it.

Someone learning to navigate technology, take better care of themselves, build a routine, move their body, express themselves creatively, or simply connect with other people.

These moments don’t always come with big announcements.

But they matter.

At PPDC, we believe quality of life is built through moments like these, through structure, connection, practical support, opportunities to grow, and a community that recognizes the whole person.

That’s the impact of having a place where people are given room to participate, learn and belong.

And it happens here every day.

You don’t have to change someone’s life to make a difference in it.

Sometimes impact looks much more ordinary.

It’s helping with an activity. Sharing a skill you know. Lending an extra hand at an event. Sitting down for a game. Helping create an environment where people feel welcomed, included, and part of something.

At Perfect Place Drop-In Center, volunteers help us create more opportunities for connection, learning, creativity, wellness, and community.

And you don’t need to have all the answers to be useful here.

You just need a willingness to show up, respect the people around you, and contribute what you can.
