In 2021, I opened the first freestanding child life private practice in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Over the next four and a half years, Lighthouse of Hope flourished, helping dozens of kids through life some of life’s most difficult moments.

It was some of my proudest work.

I expanded my knowledge base, made lasting connections, and promoted child life outside of the hospital.

As a wife and a mom, my family is always going to be my highest priority. So when life shifted for my young adult kids, I pivoted to keep the important things the important things.

The result? Closing Lighthouse of Hope and joining .community as a Certified Child Life Specialist, Child & Adolescent Grief Counselor, and TBRI Practitioner.

They welcomed me with open arms and it’s been incredible to be part of an amazing team. 🫶🏼

Over the past 14 months, I have repeatedly realized I needed to post this update here, but life. Ya know?

I’ve also realized that 28 years in the child life profession means that I have a voice in this field. Stepping away from my business page was a wonderful break, but it also meant I wasn’t talking about our incredible work and that just won’t do!

So, here I am. Thanks for welcoming me back! 🤍
