Does Medicare cover dental, vision, and hearing? Here is the honest answer.

Original Medicare generally does not cover routine dental care, eye exams, or hearing aids. These are significant gaps that catch a lot of people off guard.

Additional coverage options may be available to help address dental, vision, and hearing needs. The extent of these benefits can vary widely depending on the coverage selected.

Standalone dental and vision plans exist and can be added alongside Original Medicare if you want additional benefits tailored to your needs.

Coverage limits and provider networks for dental and vision can be just as important as the benefit itself. A plan that covers cleanings but has no providers nearby may not provide the value you are looking for.

Comparing these additional benefits side by side, along with your core medical coverage, is part of what a thorough plan review looks like.

A lot of people come to me after spending weeks trying to compare plans on their own.

They have a stack of mailers, a list of doctors, a few prescriptions, and more confusion than clarity. What usually changes the conversation is not more information. It is a simpler process.

When we narrow the comparison to doctors, prescriptions, budget, and ongoing support, the options become clearer fast. That is how I help people go from overwhelmed to confident without making the process feel heavier than it already does.

If you are stuck sorting through too many options, DM READY and we will simplify it together.

The out-of-pocket maximum is one of the most important numbers in your Medicare plan, and one of the most overlooked.

Every Medicare Advantage plan has an out-of-pocket maximum. Once you reach that number in covered costs for the year, the plan pays one hundred percent of additional covered services.

Original Medicare does not have an out-of-pocket maximum on its own. That is one reason why many people pair it with a Medigap supplement plan.

For someone managing a chronic condition or facing a major health event, the out-of-pocket maximum can be the difference between financial stability and a serious budget problem.

When you are comparing plans, look at this number alongside the premium. A lower premium with a high out-of-pocket maximum can cost you far more in a difficult year.

Book a call if you want to compare the full cost picture across your options.

Here is what ongoing support actually looks like after enrollment, because it is more than just being available.

Annual plan reviews before each enrollment window so you are comparing plans with fresh information, not last year's details.

Prescription monitoring so that if your formulary changes, you know before you get to the pharmacy counter.

Claims support when a bill looks wrong or a claim gets denied and you need someone who understands the system.

Provider network checks when you are considering a new doctor or specialist and want to know what your plan covers.

A real person to call when something changes in your health, your coverage, or your coverage questions.

This is what a long-term advocate looks like in practice. The relationship does not end when you sign the paperwork.

DM SUPPORT if you want a guide who stays in your corner all year.

A lot of people choose a Medicare plan based on what their neighbor or friend recommended. It is one of the most common ways to end up with the wrong coverage.

What works for someone else depends entirely on their doctors, their medications, their health history, and their budget. Those four things are different for everyone.

If your friend takes different prescriptions, sees different specialists, or lives in a different zip code, their plan may not even be available to you, let alone right for you.

The best Medicare plan is the one built around your situation. Not a neighbor's recommendation, not a TV commercial, and not the lowest number on the page.

As an independent agent, I compare plans across multiple carriers using your actual information so the recommendation fits you and no one else.

DM FIT and I will help you find the plan that actually matches your needs.

Open enrollment is coming. Before the window opens, there are 5 things worth reviewing in your current plan: your premium, drug coverage, provider network, out-of-pocket exposure, and any changes in your health needs

Most people wait until a problem shows up. A better approach is to review your plan before deadline pressure kicks in.

I put together a simple pre-enrollment review checklist to help you spot issues early and prepare smarter questions before you switch or renew.

Comment REVIEW and I will send you the checklist.

If you are sorting through Medicare options and feeling stuck, here is a simple process that makes it easier.

Write down the names of your doctors and specialists. Check whether they accept Medicare and whether they are in the network of any plan you are considering.

List every prescription you take and the dosage. Drug costs vary significantly between plans, and the formulary is one of the most important things to compare.

Calculate your full yearly budget, not just the monthly premium. Include deductibles, copays, and the out-of-pocket maximum.

Think about how often you use healthcare. Someone who sees specialists regularly has different needs than someone who mostly stays well.

Talk to an independent agent who can run the numbers across multiple plans with your actual details in hand.

DM PROCESS and I will walk you through this step by step.

Part D drug coverage is one of the most overlooked parts of Medicare planning, and one of the most expensive to get wrong.

Even if you are relatively healthy and do not take many medications today, skipping Part D when you are first eligible can result in a late enrollment penalty that follows you permanently.

The penalty is calculated based on how many months you went without creditable drug coverage. It adds to your Part D premium every month for as long as you have Medicare.

If your situation changes and you need a drug plan later, you will pay more than you would have if you had enrolled on time.

The lesson is simple: do not skip drug coverage just because you do not need it today. A small monthly premium now is almost always less than a permanent penalty later.

Comment PARTD if you want to understand your options before the enrollment window closes.

Working for you means I cannot work for the insurance company. That is the whole point of being independent.

Captive agents represent one carrier. They sell what their company offers, which may or may not be the right fit for you.

As an independent agent, I work with multiple carriers. That means when I make a recommendation, it is based on what fits your doctors, your prescriptions, and your budget, not on a quota or a company preference.

It also means I can shop across plans on your behalf and give you a real comparison instead of a pitch.

The relationship does not end at enrollment either. I stay available for questions, claims, plan reviews, and anything that comes up along the way.

If you want someone in your corner who works for you, DM INDEPENDENT and we will set up a call.

Every year, people find out about plan changes only after a prescription suddenly costs more or a provider issue catches them off guard.

That is exactly why annual reviews matter.

Drug formularies change. Provider networks shift. Costs move. And if nobody is helping you review those changes before they affect your care, you are left reacting under pressure.

My job is not just to help at enrollment. It is to help you stay informed after enrollment too, so there are fewer surprises and more confidence in your coverage.

DM if you want to schedule an annual plan review before the next enrollment window.
