There's a real connection between how your bite lines up and how your neck and head sit throughout the day. A 2024 review of the research confirms it. People with one type of bite issue tended to hold their neck further back than usual, while people with a different type tended to lean their head forward more, and the pattern showed up consistently enough for researchers to call it a genuine association.

What's interesting is what happened when the bite was actually corrected, through orthodontics or jaw surgery. Neck posture shifted along with it. That tells us the bite isn't just responding to posture, or the other way around. The two seem to move together, which is part of why we look at your bite as one piece of a larger system rather than something separate from the rest of the body.

A recent review on dentist-patient communication found what we've always believed here: Taking the time to explain things clearly and check in with patients during treatment lowers anxiety and builds trust, and patients who feel that trust are more likely to keep up with the care they need down the road.

It's a good reminder that a calm, comfortable visit isn't just a nice bonus. It's part of what makes the dentistry itself work better.

Summer means a lot of us are living on iced coffee and cold drinks nonstop, which is great for staying hydrated, but worth balancing with actual water. Sugary or acidic drinks add up faster than people think, especially when they're sipped all day instead of all at once.

It's easy to take your toothbrush for granted, until you learn people were using boar bristles set in bone handles less than a century ago. Nylon didn't come along until 1938.

Wild to think how recent that is.

Overall wellness isn't built through extremes. It's built through small, consistent habits.
A new 30-year study tracking over 147,000 people backs this up: Just 90 to 120 minutes of strength training a week was linked to some of the biggest long-term health benefits, including a lower risk of death overall.

It's a good reminder that the body works as one connected system, just like your oral health. Comprehensive, whole-body care means paying attention to how it all fits together.
