☀️ Summer is here, and that means pool days are calling! If your child has ear tubes, swimming can still be safe and fun with a few simple precautions.
💦 Treated pools are generally safe without ear plugs for most children with ear tubes.
🌊 Lakes, rivers, and oceans are considered untreated water, so ear plugs are recommended to help protect little ears.
👂Our office has ear plugs available for purchase to help keep your child’s ears protected all summer long.
🛑 If your child has a "hole" in their eardrum (not a tube) - wear an earplug for all types of water.
📞 If your child has drainage from the ear(s), give our office a call!
If you have questions about swimming, ear tubes, or protecting your child’s hearing this summer, the team at ENT for Children is here to help! 💙
