Ever notice feeling wound up and not understanding why? Or maybe you always just feel off or edgy, and can't really pinpoint a precipitating event? This is likely some sort of suppression happening. In today's world, we are constantly suppressing our feelings so that we can keep pushing ourselves, but this is exactly why we have so much discontent and unhappiness! We are not connecting these feelings to what we're avoiding because... well... isn't that the point of avoidance 🤷‍♀️ We have to start doing better! For ourselves! Do you agree with this, or does it look differently to you? The way I see it is that we cannot please everyone, but we are the only ones who can truly please ourselves. In order to be ok, I must draw boundaries, be intentional about my life and who/what I let into my circle, and allow for some space to be alone. This means that I will sometimes be alone (and maybe even lonely), because there will undoubtedly be some rejection from those who do not want or like my boundaries or intentions! That's just how it is. I would love to see a world where more of us could be ok with that, and simply accept that for what it is. It's not a personal rejection, but rather says something about what the other person can or cannot bring in their lives at the time. Not personal at all! Thoughts? Please comment below. This is such a great and important conversation.

EMDR has a long name that doesn't really doesn't make sense to a lot of people. Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing??? What the heck does that mean? Even the researchers have noted that they wished a different name had been chosen, but the name EMDR has stuck. Long story short, it's a brain-based therapy that works differently than traditional talk therapy. It works to integrate memories within the brain by essentially syncing both sides of the brain so that the stuck memories can move toward healing. You finally get to leave the past in the past, while responding to today's world without being triggered by old memories or experiences. Doesn't that sound amazing?! Your body really does want to heal! It also has what it needs to do so. It is likely even functioning as it's supposed to right now, trying to protect you from danger. However, sometimes it gets stuck or clogged and needs a little extra push. EMDR can be that push! It's a gentle and thorough way to process unsettled traumas or feelings that seem to have you stuck. EMDR intensives are unique personalized treatment plans that are designed to fulfill your individual needs, so that we can make the best use of your precious time. Intensives are great for people who don't have the flexibility in their schedules to meet for an hour every week. They are also great for highly motivated people with specific treatment goals in mind.

We choose a time allotment that works for you, such as half-day or three-day plans where we can focus solely on what matters for a dedicated period of time without spending as much time catching up at the beginning of each weekly session and closing down at the end. Instead, we get to keep our flow throughout an extended timeframe.

I also offer pre-arranged concierge services for those who would like to come out to the Brunswick County beaches to do in-person intensives while also enjoying all that our beautiful beach community has to offer, such as hot yoga, float spa, massage, fresh seafood, beautiful scenic beaches and lots of sunshine!
