Today marks my first official day back from maternity leave, and I’m so excited to be back doing work that I genuinely love! 🛋️

I’m officially accepting new clients for individual and couples counseling at my Gulf Shores office and virtually across the state of Alabama. I work with adults navigating anxiety, OCD, relationship concerns, and the many transitions that can make life feel a little heavier than usual.

If you’ve been thinking about reaching out, this might be your sign 🫶

Mental exhaustion doesn’t always announce itself loudly. Sometimes it shows up as feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, unmotivated, or exhausted all the time.

Rest IS productive and can help prevent burnout. Try scheduling intentional time to recharge instead of waiting until you’re completely drained. 🫶

A lot of people confuse borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder because, on the surface, both can involve intense emotions, impulsivity, relationship struggles, mood changes, and periods of deep distress. But the pattern underneath those experiences is often very different.

BPD tends to involve chronic emotional and relational instability that is closely tied to attachment, rejection, identity, and interpersonal stress. Bipolar disorder involves distinct mood episodes rooted more in biological and neurochemical shifts, including mania/hypomania and depression that can last days to weeks. They can also coexist, which is part of why misdiagnosis can happen so often.

The goal of understanding these differences is to increase compassion, improve treatment, and remind people that mental health is nuanced. Human beings do not fit neatly into tiny boxes, even when symptoms overlap.

This post is for educational purposes only and is not intended to diagnose anyone. Accurate diagnosis should always come from a qualified mental health professional who can look at the full picture over time.

Hope this helps 💜

Hi friends! 👋🏼 I wanted to share some life updates and office changes.

As many of you know, we are expecting a baby girl this summer!! I plan to be available for in person appointments at my Fairhope office for the remainder of this month and all of May. Beginning in June, I will transition to telehealth only sessions until the baby is born.

Upon return from maternity leave in early-mid August, my office will have moved to Gulf Shores, AL. This is a decision that I did not take lightly as I know it is a good bit further from my current office but ultimately decided it was pertinent I have a space closer to home so I can be present with my family AND my clients.

I still have a couple spots open for new clients but plan to stop accepting new clients by the end of April in order to ensure proper continuity of care.

I greatly appreciate the support and understanding during this season of transition and am so excited to get back to doing what I love most in beautiful Gulf Shores this August! 🏝️🫶
