Allergy and Asthma Associates are specialists in allergy and asthma and related conditions. We are highly trained and have many years of practical experience treating tens of thousands of patients. There are many different kinds of tests we can perform if necessary. Testing can be performed on people of all ages. Some of these tests require advance preparation and would need to be scheduled on a s

econd visit. Allergy skin testing determines allergic sensitivity using the skin. They are performed by scratch testing, intradermal testing or patch testing:

In addition, we have state-of-the-art pulmonary function testing. This test measures how much air you can blow out of your lungs and how fast the air flows out. We can perform this test before and after bronchodilators (asthma inhalers) to measure improvement. We also perform this test with exercise to assess exercise induced asthma. In addition our office provides the pollen count report for all of Northern Nevada. It is availible both by calling our office at 775-359-5010 ext 35 and online at http://allergyasthmareno.com/index.php/pollen-report

🌲 This Week's Pollen Count Report 🌲

The majority of this week's pollen count continues to be tree pollen, making up 90% of the total count and remaining in the high range. Pine pollen accounts for 77% of the count, while a combination of other trees—including locust, willow, mulberry, juniper/cedar, Russian olive, and birch—contributes an additional 13%.

🌱 Area grasses are currently in the moderate range, accounting for 7% of the total pollen count.

🌿 And with June's arrival, area w**ds have decided to begin pollinating as well. Pigw**d and English plantain pollen make up 3% of this week's count. This is a little earlier than expected, but here they are all the same!

🌧️ Last night's overnight rain may have slightly skewed the pollen count, but area tree pollens are currently in the MODERATE range. The majority of tree pollen is coming from pine trees (90%), with smaller amounts from willow, oak, and locust trees. 🌲

Grass pollen remains in the LOW range, making up about 6% of the total count, and w**d pollens are currently absent.

Thank you all for your patience this morning during our technical issues — we appreciate your understanding! 💙

🌿🌞 Memorial Day Weekend is almost here — and so is peak pollen season! 🌞🌿

This week, area trees continue to be the main pollinators, with pine pollen leading the way at 58% of the total pollen count. Other tree pollens, including mulberry, tamarisk, willow, and locust, make up another 20%.

We’re also seeing area grasses ramp up their pollination activity and moving into the moderate range, now accounting for 22% of the pollen count.

The good news? W**d pollens are still absent and are not expected to arrive until mid-summer.

If you’re planning to spend time outdoors this Memorial Day weekend, be sure to stay ahead of your allergy symptoms and enjoy the holiday comfortably!

Wishing all of our patients a happy, healthy, and safe Memorial Day weekend.
