Your nervous system called—it would like an hour off.

Join Elizabeth TOMORROW, Friday, September 4, from 11:00–12:00 for a deeply restorative sound bath at Grove.

Crystal sound bowls can help calm the stress response, release tension held in the body, and quiet an overactive mind. You don’t need any experience, and you don’t need to arrive feeling peaceful.

Come exactly as you are. Dress comfortably, settle in, and let the sound bowls do the rest. ✨

Space is limited—reserve your spot here:

Happy Gotcha Day to our very favorite coworker. 🐾💚

Today marks another year since Grover officially joined the family—and eventually decided that Grove belonged to him, too.

Since then, he’s perfected the art of greeting clients, providing emotional support, accepting treats as payment, sleeping on the job, and somehow knowing when someone could use a little extra love.

Therapy dogs have a pretty special way of reminding us that sometimes support doesn’t require the right words. Sometimes it’s simply sitting beside someone and being there.

We’re pretty sure Grover has that part figured out. 💚

Happy Gotcha Day, Grover! Thanks for making Grove a little softer, warmer, and considerably furrier.

And yes, we assume he’ll be accepting treats and compliments in celebration.

🎧 NEW EPISODE OUT TODAY!

“What We Mean When We Say ‘We Don’t Communicate…’”

Ask most couples what’s wrong, and you’ll hear some version of the same thing:

“We just don’t communicate.”

But what if communication isn’t actually the problem?

In this episode of Grove: Beyond the Couch, Melissa and Susan sit down with fellow therapist Christina Williams, MS, LMFT, to talk about what people really mean when they say communication has broken down.

We talk about why silence is still communication, why speaking and feeling understood are two very different things, and what can be happening underneath those frustrating, repetitive conversations.

We also get into something we believe strongly at Grove: therapists are human, too. Part of doing this work well is knowing our strengths, recognizing when someone needs something different, and understanding that none of us is meant to be the right therapist for everyone.

We’ve talked a lot this week about grief—including the very real grief that can come when someone we never personally knew still felt deeply familiar.

Then we came across this beautiful post from therapist Emily Zeller | Enneagram Consultant for High-Achievers , and it captured something else we don’t want to miss.

Maybe “living like Dolly” isn’t about always being the bright one in the room.

Maybe it’s telling someone when you’re not okay. Checking on the person who always seems to be. Loving people generously. Letting yourself take up space. Keeping some things sacred. And letting other people love you, too.

We’re grateful to Emily for giving us permission to share her work here. 💛

Feeling under the weather? Please stay home.

We truly appreciate how committed our clients are to showing up for themselves—even on the days they aren’t feeling their best.

But if you are sick, please don’t feel like you need to push through and come into the office.

If you’re experiencing symptoms of illness, just reach out and let us know. Whenever possible, we’re happy to:

Switch your appointment to telehealth, or reschedule for a time when you’re feeling better.

Staying home when you’re sick helps protect our therapists, staff, other clients, and their families—and helps keep Grove a healthy space for everyone.

Your dedication to your mental health matters to us. And sometimes taking care of yourself means resting at home. ❤️

Thank you for helping us take care of one another.

Sometimes, we grieve people we have never met. ❤️

The loss of a musician, actor, artist, or public figure who has been woven into the soundtrack of our lives can bring very real grief.

Maybe their music reminds you of your childhood.
Maybe a movie takes you back to someone you loved.
Maybe they represented home, comfort, or a different season of your life.

And sometimes, one loss has a way of stirring up others.

In light of the losses so many are feeling this week, we want our community to know something:

You don’t have to justify your grief.

If you’re hurting, you’re allowed to hurt. And if this week’s losses have brought up feelings you weren’t expecting—or stirred up grief of your own—you don’t have to carry that alone.

At Grove, we offer a limited number of pro bono counseling services through our graduate interns, and they will be opening their schedules for appointments soon.

These sessions aren’t reserved for any particular kind of loss. Maybe you’re grieving someone you knew and loved. Maybe you’re surprised by how deeply the loss of someone you never met has affected you. Or maybe something about this week simply brought other things to the surface.

Whatever brought you through the door, you’re welcome here. ❤️

Grief doesn’t require an introduction.

If cost has kept you from reaching out for counseling, please contact Grove to learn more about our upcoming pro bono availability.

“You are enough. ❤️
And anyone who tells you otherwise isn’t worth your time.”

— Dolly Parton

A simple reminder from a Tennessee icon whose words, warmth, and kindness reached far beyond music.

Today, we’re holding onto this one a little tighter. ❤️
