Reds for vEDS Day — March 15, 2026 ❤️

Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (vEDS) is a rare, life-threatening genetic connective tissue disorder caused by changes in the COL3A1 gene. It affects the body’s collagen, making arteries, organs, and tissues fragile and prone to tearing or rupture.

vEDS is estimated to affect about 1 in every 150,000–250,000 people, with only a few thousand known cases identified in the United States.

Many people living with vEDS look healthy on the outside while fighting an invisible battle every day. Symptoms can include easy bruising, thin translucent skin, chronic pain, aneurysms, arterial dissections, organ rupture, and other serious complications.

Today we wear RED to raise awareness, support families, encourage earlier diagnosis, and advocate for better care and research.

Because awareness saves lives. ❤️
