If you have been struggling with friendships lately.
There was a time when I would have done everything I could to hold onto a friendship.
Recently, I had to walk away from a 40-year friendship. It wasn't because of one argument or one bad day. It was because I realized I had become someone different.
God has spent years healing me, transforming me, renewing my mind, and drawing me closer to Him. The woman I am today doesn't think, respond, or tolerate the things I once did.
This morning during prayer, I felt the Lord impress this on my heart:
**"If your friendships are dropping like flies, take that as a compliment."**
At first, that sounded harsh. But then I understood.
Not everyone is meant to walk with the healed version of you.
Some relationships were built around your wounds, your people-pleasing, your silence, your broken boundaries, or the version of you that abandoned yourself to keep others comfortable.
When God changes you, those relationships often can't survive the transformation.
And that's okay.
Just because a friendship is old doesn't mean it's healthy.
Just because you've known someone for decades doesn't mean they're assigned to your next season.
Sometimes God lovingly removes people who can no longer go where He's taking you.
Growth changes your atmosphere.
Healing changes your boundaries.
Walking with Christ changes your spirit.
When your soul changes, not every relationship will.
So if you've had to let go of friendships that no longer reflect who God is calling you to be, don't always see it as a loss.
Sometimes it's confirmation that God is doing exactly what you prayed for.
Not every ending is rejection.
Sometimes it's the evidence that you've finally become the person God has been healing you to be.
