In the current Lakes News Shopper, we featured the Okoboji Wellness Clinic's NEW Nurse Practitioner, Matthew Garred (ARNP, CPT, CNC)!

A third-generation medical clinician in his family, Matthew is honored to continue the family tradition of serving others through medical services.

He is a welcome addition to the Okoboji Wellness Clinic Team! As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, NASM-certified Personal Trainer, and Certified Nutrition Coach, Matthew looks forward to forming relationships with patients and getting to the root cause of their health and wellness issues.

He will focus on monthly Direct Primary Care (DPC) and Metabolic Testing, providing patients with a personalized plan of action and movement. Within Okoboji Wellness Clinic’s integrative, regenerative, and metabolic healthcare setting, Matthew is also certified in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), Ozone Therapy, PNOE Metabolic Testing, and Styku 3D Body Scan Assessment.

Matthew received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing through the accelerated program at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He previously served in the ICU and Cardiac Cath Lab in Sioux City, Iowa, earning his CCRN certification during his time there, before obtaining his Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Briar Cliff University.

He also holds a music degree from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he met his wife, Laura. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children. Matthew is a commercial pilot and enjoys weightlifting, aerobatics, disc golf, waterskiing, backpacking, baseball, and any outdoor adventure. He also volunteers as medical staff for church summer camps and serves on worship teams during the summer months.
