Hearing Impairment May Affect Brain Health.

A narrative review noted that age-related hearing loss is consistently associated with accelerated cognitive decline and increased dementia risk. According to a recent study involving 1,184 adults hospitalized for stroke between 2022 and 2023, wildfire smoke exposure was also linked to more severe strokes and greater functional disability at discharge.
