👋 We’re excited to welcome two experienced orthopedic sports medicine surgeons to Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists this September: Bryan S. Mitchell, MD and Joseph Labrum, MD.

Both physicians have spent years caring for patients in the Spokane area and will bring their experience to our growing sports medicine team while helping expand access to specialized orthopedic care throughout the Inland Northwest.

📅 Appointments are now being scheduled.

NWOS is proud to support Communities In Schools of Northeast Washington in helping local students and families prepare for the school year.

With school about to begin, the need for backpacks and essential supplies is already high — and following the recent wildfires and evacuations, that need is even greater for many local families.

We are now accepting donations at all NWOS locations through Tuesday, August 18. Donations may be dropped off at any NWOS clinic, Express/PT location, surgery center, or MRI location.

Thank you for helping support students and families in our community. 💚

Our hearts are with everyone impacted by the devastating wildfires affecting Spokane and Eastern Washington. We are thinking of the families who have lost homes, those who have been evacuated, those waiting for news, and everyone helping family members, friends and neighbors through this incredibly difficult time.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the firefighters, law enforcement officers, first responders, emergency personnel, National Guard members, utility crews, shelter workers, nonprofit organizations, volunteers and neighbors working tirelessly to protect and care for our community.

NWOS has gathered some local resources for evacuation updates, emergency shelter, food and essential supplies, pet assistance, financial support, and ways to help. View resources here: https://bit.ly/nwos-resources-blog

Please stay safe and continue looking out for one another.

May is National Physical Fitness & Sports Month — a reminder that movement doesn’t have to look one specific way.

Walking, biking, stretching, strength training, recreational sports, and everyday activities all count. Regular movement can help support joint health, bone strength, balance, heart health, mental wellness, and overall mobility.

Start where you are, build gradually, and listen to your body. If pain or injury is keeping you from the activities you enjoy, NWOS is here to help you keep moving.

What’s your favorite way to move this time of year? 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏌️‍♂️

Strong bones help support a life in motion.

🦴 May is National Osteoporosis Awareness & Prevention Month — a reminder that bone health plays an important role in mobility, independence, and injury prevention.

Osteoporosis can cause bones to become weaker and more likely to fracture, often without obvious symptoms until a break occurs. Supporting bone health through regular movement, strength training, calcium, vitamin D, protein, and appropriate screening can help reduce risk.

If pain, injury, or mobility concerns are keeping you from staying active, NWOS is here to help.
