This wreath has taken my front door through the seasons by using ribbon in shades of lavender and camel. Each season received more ribbon in stronger shades. Today burgundy has been added along with stems of pine for the holidays. I’m a believer in using the same wreath all year and adding to it as you go. I gave a talk earlier this year about using ribbon on the diagonal for a unique look. If you look at Anthropologie right now, they are featuring this style for 2026.

Laura Visioni captured this inspirational dining room by UFab Interiors at the Richmond Symphony 2026 Designer Show House. Everything in this room was meticulously designed to represent history in a modern way, and Laura captured it perfectly. The mix of antique plates and platters flowed along the wall and juxtaposed so well with the modern light fixture. The metallic wallpaper on the ceiling, reflected the light back into the space. I talked with designer Diana Vicenti about how she used natural elements on the dining table to add comfort and keeping centerpieces low so everyone could talk to one another over dinner. She used a mixture of antique china, pottery, natural pods, and a custom made runner for the table. The green paint on the walls made this elegant room vibrant and comfortable. Bravo to this team!

Lavender hues for spring feels peaceful in my home to me yet the greenery adds energy. Taking everything out of a room after winter, cleaning, and then putting things back in a fresh way is a way to keep my home from becoming stagnant. Seasons change and with help from blankets and pillows your family room and porches can get a quick and simple makeover. Enjoy your space!

The astroturf circles on this terrace had me swooning at the Richmond Symphony House yesterday! Such a clever way to add foundation and color without a rug. You may still tour this home at for 2 more days!
