The first line of he XinXin Ming seems impossible to live by as we all have preferences. We all have different tastes and styles and ways to live our life. But what happens when your something that you would prefer is not an option? Or how are you when the best made plans don’t go as you thought they should? You are looking forward to your favorite meal to order at the restaurant and they are out of the key ingredient….? It is not about the preference, but the attachment to the preference. Are you letting unfulfilled preferences take away from the beauty of the Moment, or do you allow it to free you from the constraints holding you in bo***ge that may cause suffering if you don’t quite get what you wanted?

Think about how today went for you. Did you go with the flow or get hung up on things? Reflect and take this in. What will you do this week when a preference does not come into fruition? What can you do if things don’t go your way? How can we begin to live out our life with this mantra in mind? “The Great Way is not difficult for those who have no preferences.”

I am journaling how this goes for me to keep track of my thoughts.

The responses on this got me thinking from fresh perspectives. Some resonated with the way the words were written. Some say to replace love with attachment.

I feel the love in this represents loving through attachment to that person or object or idea. “Being in love with” is different than holding a space of love and radiating that love outward. Just BEing love there is no duality to the otherwise. Being in love or hate causes the suffering attachment to that feeling we have to the object of our feeling. Thus causing a defense of that feeling when questioned or threatened.

When BEing in a space of love, you are love. There is no object to project onto, just BEing in that radiating quality.

When you just Be in the Moment, holding space, there is no duality for you just Are and nothing else.

My knee has been hurting just like one’s nutrition might be. But when we have a pain, we get help, yet we let our nutrition, the core being of what keeps us healthy, undervalued and ailing.

I am rehabbing my knee, slowly. S. L. O. W. L. Y.

But we do not allow a slow and steady nutritional rehabilitation.

We want a quick fix, like a shot to my knee. It is easy to do but does not resolve the root problem.

Shots wear out, so do diets.
Fixing the issue, though sometimes frustrating, offers a lifetime of rewards. I can work hard and commit for 2 months if the remaining years of my life benefit. That is a good return!!

The rest of your life deserves your hard work and patience.

Carnivore day 4.

Weight 172.
Movement: Morning workout. 4 mile run in evening.

I wasn’t eating fairy hotdogs today, mainly beef.
Steak cubes cooked in coconut oil, 3 burger patties, some cubed steak. Pork rinds, sour cream and some Greek yogurt. I allowed a little cheat to help stave off a big cheat on the horizon.

Do you know eating protein burns 25-30% of the calories off the top? So if you ate a 100 calorie piece of meat, it only accounts for about 70 calories due to the thermic effect of utilizing the protein!! Win!!

My inflammation during my runs are getting better. Some pain came at mile two but did not affect my run. My energy is high throughout the day and now that I am adding more variety, I am enjoying my food each day!
