Wow, is this ever true. I spent so many years trying to turn myself into the perfectly shaped pretzel in order to get my abusive husband to change. It never worked. When I finally accepted that he had no interest in ever changing, I was able to move forward with my life. They don't call it radical acceptance for nothing.
