Got a warning on my page this morning, over a comment I made on my own post about these god-awful Bradford pear trees and how much I hate them. So, since I’ve been contemplating leaving the disheartening time suck that is social media, I’m taking this as a sign. On Thursday, August 26, 2021 (two days after his 77th birthday), my father’s 25 year battle with Parkinson’s disease ended peacefully. He was a good guy, served in the Air Force during Vietnam, loved Mama, me, all his damned grandkids and was loved just as much in return. I’m glad he was my dad and I already miss him, but I am grateful his suffering is over. RIP James Marshall Helton, Jr.
