Michael "Mike" Duane Parrish

Michael Duane Parrish, 37, of Murfreesboro, went to be with his Lord on May 24, 2026. Born on November 18, 1988, to Duane and Kim Parrish, Mike was known for his quick wit, endless creativity, and the kind of heart that made everyone feel welcome. He brought laughter wherever he went and had a rare ability to turn even ordinary moments into unforgettable memories.

Mike proudly embraced being a “nerd” and found joy in all things fantasy, imagination, and storytelling. He loved playing DnD, Pokémon, and MTG with friends, and recently began writing his own DnD campaign, earning praise for its creativity and storytelling. He was also developing a game card scanner app that was just beginning to come together, a project that reflected both his ambition and inventive spirit. Mike dreamed big and pursued those dreams fearlessly, always excited for the next idea, challenge, or adventure.

Above all else, Mike’s greatest love was his family. His wife, Kayla, was not only the love of his life, but truly his best friend. Together, they often said they were each other’s “missing piece,” a sentiment lovingly engraved on his wedding band. Their bond was one built on friendship, laughter, and unwavering love.

Mike absolutely adored his son, Rowan, who was his entire world. Whether carrying him on his shoulders, having tickle fights, playing ‘Tweeter’ on car rides, or simply spending time together, Mike treasured every moment of being a father. He was overjoyed to be preparing to welcome his second son, Evan, due in August 2026.

Mike is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Kayla Parrish; his beloved sons, Rowan and Evan; his parents, Duane and Kim Parrish; his godson, Atticus Taylor; and his goddaughter, Madeline Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Ann (Grandmom) and Lilbert (Papa) Owens.

Mike will forever be remembered as a cherished son, devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend whose laughter, imagination, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held 5-7PM Friday, May 29, 2026 and one our prior to the service on Saturday at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home. Gary Reed Gober

Gary R. Gober passed away on May 19, 2026, in Spring Hill, Tennessee.

Born in New York City on July 27, 1941, Gary carried the unmistakable energy of New York with him throughout his life - sophisticated, charismatic, sharp-witted, and impossible to ignore when he entered a room. Impeccably dressed and naturally commanding, he possessed the rare ability to both captivate a courtroom and hold an audience spellbound at a dinner table with nothing more than a perfectly told story and a verse from Fiddler on the Roof.

A graduate of Harvard University and Vanderbilt University Law School, Gary built a legendary legal career spanning more than four decades. Founder of The Gober Law Firm, he devoted his life to representing seriously injured individuals and families throughout Tennessee, becoming nationally recognized for his work in traumatic brain injury litigation and trial advocacy. He dedicated his legal career to standing beside injured workers, families, and individuals whose lives had been profoundly altered by tragedy.

Gary was widely regarded as one of the nation’s leading trial lawyers and teachers of trial advocacy. He lectured in more than 46 states, as well as Canada, Britain, and the Bahamas, and his presentations became renowned for their insight, creativity, and ability to inspire generations of attorneys. He held leadership positions in numerous legal organizations, including Past President of the Tennessee Association for Justice, the Southern Trial Lawyers Association, the Melvin M. Belli Society, and the Nashville Trial Lawyers Association, among many others.

In 2006, Gary himself received the prestigious “Mel Award,” an honor he had originally conceived years earlier to recognize attorneys whose innovation and creative advocacy transformed the practice of trial law. It was a fitting tribute to a man whose intellect, imagination, and passion left a lasting mark on the legal profession.

Yet for all of his accomplishments, Gary’s greatest love story began not in a courtroom, but with Diane.

Long considered one of Nashville’s “most eligible bachelors,” Gary remained famously unattached until he met Diane McCool Gober, the woman who would become the center of his world. Together they built a marriage spanning more than four decades, filled with adventure, laughter, intellectual curiosity, and deep devotion. After Diane’s passing in December 2025, those closest to Gary knew he missed her profoundly and spoke of her constantly.

Together they traveled the world - from New York City to Cuba, Africa, Europe, and beyond - always seeking beauty, culture, conversation, and connection. Gary loved bookstores, old films, lively meals, and long stories shared among family and friends. He especially loved classic cinema, with favorites including All About Eve, North by Northwest and Anatomy of a Murder. He admired the dry wit and sophistication of actors like George Sanders, and his own humor carried that same understated style. When something was truly exceptional - especially a meal - Gary would simply nod and pronounce it “adequate,” which, coming from him, was the highest possible praise.

At home, he was an enthusiastic cook and grill master whose pasta dishes became part of the family’s emotional landscape. He loved gathering people around a table, telling stories late into the evening, and introducing his grandchildren to the wider world through travel, books, history, and conversation.

Gary was also a devoted reader, lifelong learner, and thoughtful mentor. In recent years, he found great meaning leading a men’s group through the teachings of Paul in the Book of Acts, bringing the same intellectual curiosity and passion for discussion that defined every part of his life.

He is survived by his children, Bobby Yeargin, Kimberly Yeargin, Jennifer Worden; daughter-in-law Donna Ridenour Yeargin; his grandchildren, Faith Andrea Yeargin, Elise Yeargin, Sebastian Fehrmann, Evan Osorio, and Ash Osorio; and many extended family members, friends, colleagues, and former students whose lives were profoundly shaped by his wisdom, mentorship, generosity, and unforgettable presence.

Gary Gober lived boldly, loved deeply, and left an indelible impression everywhere he went. Beneath the commanding voice, elegant suits, and towering professional reputation was a man who treasured family, conversation, learning, laughter, and above all, Diane. He made life richer, more intelligent, more entertaining, and more meaningful for those fortunate enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cancer research or Brentwood United Methodist in his honor.

Service details will be announced at a later date.

Richard Ridley Derryberry

Richard Derryberry of Spring Hill, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 16, 2026.

Richard was a man of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering dependability. He lived a life marked not by attention or recognition, but by steady service, generosity, and care for the people and places he loved.

Richard briefly served in the United States Army before beginning a long career with AVCO Aerostructures, where he worked for more than 30 years as a wing inspector for military aircraft. He took tremendous pride in his work and was known for his meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic. He was the kind of man others counted on, someone who showed up and did things the right way.

Outside of work, Richard found his greatest joy in simple things. Family and friends will forever picture him in the field on a tractor, working in the yard, or riding a four-wheeler across the farm. He enjoyed canning tomatoes, green beans, and other vegetables each season. Though he enjoyed hunting in earlier years, he eventually found even greater joy in simply feeding and watching wildlife around his home and farm.

Richard never hesitated to help others. He would often use vacation time to help his friends work the fields during harvest season, combining corn and beans and doing whatever needed to be done. He believed in hard work, loyalty, and helping a neighbor in need.

Richard also loved the beach and treasured time spent in Panama City Beach with his wife, Margaret, where they found community and friends through Emerald Beach Church of Christ. He especially enjoyed the fresh sea air - to clear his allergies - and walks along the shoreline.

A longtime and faithful member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, Richard was a steady presence in the life of the church. A few children developed a habit of sitting beside Richard and Margaret during church services - a habit that extended through teenage years and reflected the warmth they extended to others. Richard lived his faith consistently, showing love not through words, but through what he did for others — always willing to help, provide, fix, support, or simply be present when needed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret; son, Blair (Sarah) and grandchildren Dakota McCord (Wesley), Regan Graves (Harry), and Cooper; stepson Darren Barnes (June) and grandchildren Connor and Kennedy; stepdaughter, Rhonda Bennett, and grandchildren Hunter and Parker (Erin); brother, Larry (Judy); sister, Elaine; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nowlin Core and Izona Creswell Derryberry.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 26, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, with a service honoring Richard’s life beginning at 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Derryberry Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Jackson Heights Church of Christ.

During the last months of his life, Richard faced significant health challenges. Even through this difficult season, he remained deeply appreciative of those who cared for him. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at NHC Maury Regional for the kindness, compassion, and attentive care they provided during his final months. Your love and care for both Richard and Margaret mean more than you know.

Richard will be remembered as a faithful husband, trusted friend, and a good and steady family man whose life reflected generosity and enduring faith. Although his absence will be deeply felt, the family is grateful for the peace of his passing and the assurance that he now rests in the arms of Jesus.

Donna Marie Gulliver

Donna Marie Clark Gulliver, age 83, of Spring Hill, TN passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026 at Williamson Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Donna was born in Paducah, KY to Don H Clark and Mary Edith Helton Clark. She graduated from Ames Senior High School, Ames, Iowa, where she was known as “Dixie”. She married Richard “Dick” Gulliver a year later.

Donna was very loving, responsible, and most of all, caring person. She could “read” another person and find ways to help that person with their needs. She especially helped many children to see their opportunities and guided them toward growing into learning experiences to satisfy those opportunities. In short, she was comfortable to be around in her no nonsense world, but most important, she cared. She filled many positions: secretary, bookkeeper, caterer, administrator, various church positions, housekeeper, librarian, cookbook author, and worked alongside Dick to restore a house that was accepted by the Alabama Historical Registry. If Donna was involved the situation turned out better. Whatever she did, it was done in an inspirational, loving, caring way. An amazing woman.

Donna M Gulliver is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by husband Richard F Gulliver, daughter Debra K. Gulliver, son David B Gulliver, grandson Daniel A Robinson, and brother James Paul Clark.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in memory of Donna Marie Gulliver to Mayo Clinic for Alzheimer’s Research. Donations can be made online at give.mayoclinic.org/designate or by mail: Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 200 First St SW, Rochester, MN 55905. Please include a note saying in memory of Donna Marie Gulliver to Mayo Clinic for Alzheimer’s Research.
