When Gallatin resident Donell “Bubba” Morgan arrived at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center struggling to breathe, he didn't know he was living with heart failure. Within hours, his condition became critical.

That’s when the power of connected care made a lifesaving difference. ❤️

Donell needed ECMO, an advanced form of life support, but his oxygen level was too low to safely transport him. So, the mobile ECMO team from TriStar Centennial Medical Center came to him, placing Donell on ECMO right at his bedside in the emergency room before safely transferring him for continued care.

Four days later, he was off ECMO. Just eight days after arriving at TriStar Centennial, Donell went home. Today, Donell is continuing his recovery with cardiac rehab.

His story is a testament to the power of connected care and collaborative teams. “I appreciate each and every one of you,” Donell shared. “Everyone was top notch. I’m grateful.”

Routine mammograms can help catch breast cancer early, when it's often easier to treat. If you're 40 or older, talk with your doctor about screening, and encourage someone you care about to do the same.

At TriStar Health, we offer advanced breast imaging and diagnostic services, including 3D mammograms, at 11 locations across Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.

“I wouldn’t be here without the folks at this ER."

When Thomas Covey began experiencing unusual chest tightness, he knew he shouldn’t ignore it. He thought of his neighbor, Emily Henry, a nurse at TriStar Lovers Lane ER.

There was a problem: Thomas didn’t know where the ER was, so he called his neighbor.

Hundreds of miles away at her bridal shower, Emily gave Thomas the address. That phone call launched Thomas's journey through three TriStar Health facilities, ultimately saving his life.

Thomas received emergency care at TriStar Lovers Lane ER before being transferred to TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital for advanced cardiac care. When physicians determined he needed emergency heart surgery, his care team coordinated a transfer to TriStar Centennial Medical Center for a quadruple bypass surgery.

After recovering, Thomas returned to TriStar Lovers Lane ER with family and treats in hand to say thank you! ❤

In Thomas's time of need TriStar Health's connected system of care was ready and equipped to respond with lifesaving emergency care.

When you or a loved one needs emergency care, your closest option may be a freestanding emergency room (FSER).

An FSER provides 24/7 emergency care similar to a hospital emergency room, but it’s located separately from a hospital campus. Offering convenient access to emergency care, FSERs can help you get the care you need close to where you are.

In this video, Dr. Brad Hoover, an emergency physician with TriStar Health, part of HCA Healthcare, explains what to expect during a visit — from check-in and evaluation to treatment — and how, if you need hospital-based care, our connected network can help coordinate the next step.

Each year, approximately 10 million patients receive emergency care across our broader HCA Healthcare network. Every visit is different, but our goal is always the same: to help you get the care you need when it matters most.
