๐ฅณ Today is the one year anniversary since Dr. Holton left insurance-based medicine.
๐ We have a broken healthcare system that is creating a provider-burn-out situation. Physicians go through twelve plus years of medical training with the expectation to provide quality care for patients. Unfortunately, in the current healthcare model, physicians end up seeing 20+ patients a day and being buried writing notes and answering over 100 messages a day, every day.
๐ฉบ๐ Our healthcare has transitioned into sick/reactive care vs. proactive care. Rushed appointments donโt allow having holistic care conversations. A system driven by insurance rules based on codes on a computer, high premiums, co-pays, out of pocket deductibles, low reimbursement to providers, all resulting in less quality care for the patient.
โ
Doctor Holton decided to step out from the hamster wheel and once he found out about Direct Primary Care, he was immediately on board.
๐
Direct Primary Care model has given him so much hope for the future of primary care. Doctor Holton is a firm believer that the relationship built with your primary care provider is a foundation for your health. When trust is built by listening, being respectful and transparent, the patient makes progress towards their health goals at a faster pace.
๐๏ธโโ๏ธ Doctor Holtonโs goal is to create a healthier community where he lives, in West Michigan. Direct Primary Care focuses on being proactive about your health instead of reactive. With more time allowed for patients, diet/social/physical activities can be addressed to alter the patientโs habits and therefore preventing health complications, reducing medications and achieving health goals.
โค๏ธ Direct Primary Care strives to provide quality care to a broader population; by keeping a low-rate monthly fee more people have access to quality-based primary care services.
Medicine like it used to be. ๐
