👣 Monthly Community JoyWalk

Embodied Practice: Walking in the Spirit of Joy with Intention & Purpose

What is it?

A monthly gathering to walk with conscious intention, treating movement as a pathway to somatic joy and community connection.

The "Why": Move from "walking for exercise" to walking for presence—reconnecting with our bodies, reducing stress, and finding joy in the everyday.

Our Intention: We walk to cultivate gratitude, build trust, and nourish our collective well-being in a low-pressure, supportive environment.

The Practice:
🌟 Set a shared intention or theme (e.g., gratitude, curiosity, love).
🌟 Mindful walking at a "savoring pace," allowing space for silence, observation, and gentle conversation.
🌟 Integration: Brief closing reflection on what was noticed.

Join us: September 12th, 830am at Fox Hollow Trail – All bodies, all paces, all welcome.

Let's reconnect with our bodies as places we live, not problems to solve. Choose "flow over force" by focusing on sensation, gratitude, and presence. Build relationships and a shared sense of joy with community.

Knowledge is power.

Or is it?

In this age of information we have more knowledge than ever…and yet we're sicker than ever.

So perhaps it's not that any knowledge is power…But the RIGHT knowledge.

So excited to share some of that knowledge in this powerful documentary:
“Healing Kitchen: Let Food Be Thy Medicine”

Don't be mistaken, this isn't about some simple folk medicine approach to help you get over a cold (even though that's covered in it also).

This is a goldmine of transformational health knowledge - and it's all applied in your kitchen!

Yes, it covers common diseases.

Yes, you'll discover plant-based recipes and formulas for stress and anxiety.

Yes, it will also empower you with simple answers to many of the diseases of our time.

But it's about MUCH more than that.

This documentary unveils breathtaking revelations about the power of our bodies to heal themselves… and how this ability can be aided and sped up by eating the right medicinal foods.

You'll discover a whole new perspective on the control that you actually have, to write your own story, when it comes to your health and well being. And how to use it every day.

This knowledge will stay with you the rest of your life.

THIS knowledge is power.

And it all starts tonight at 9pm Eastern!

I once overheard a 4yo ask, when she was choosing a snack to eat, "Mommy, is this part of my diet plan?"

And my heart sank. I remembered when a friend of mine in her 30s shared with me that her mom had recently told her that she would be really pretty if she just lost some weight. And it took her back to the time when she was 4 years old and would go to birthday parties and be told that she couldn't have the cake because she was overweight. Ever since then, her relationship with food has been riddled with shame and guilt and manifested as eating disorders and one fad diet after another.

I often have families come to me after having eliminated everything from their child's diet only to discover that it didn't take their rash away, that it didn't improve their eczema. I encourage them to notice patterns instead... unless they break out every time they eat a certain food, I think it's more important for kids, especially when being introduced to foods, to explore different tastes and textures. To notice how different types of food feel in their body, how it affects their energy, their mood, their focus, performance. To know where the food came from, perhaps even be involved in growing it and feeling pride in that and all the things they can create from it.

Because when they do that, they don't feel restricted or limited by their food choices nor do they feel guilty when they want to indulge. They don't just see it as a source of sustenance or pleasure. Instead, they are connected to and empowered by the joy of how it nourishes their mind and body. To its vitality. Instead of asking, "Is this part of my diet plan?", they listen to what their body needs and will choose wisely.
Our relationship with food begins at a very early age. Let's make it a joyful one.

Take a deep dive into building healthy relationships with food with me and so many others who share their wisdom in The Sacred Science's 9-part docuseries Healing Kitchen: Let Food Be Thy Medicine airing for FREE for a limited time! I love sharing the magic of camp, but the truth is, it all starts even before the kids get here.

As the Dawn's early light paints the sky with sweet dreams...
And the birds sing joyfully about the coming of the Sun on the horizon...
The moon lingers to catch a glimpse of the new day...

Soon, this place will come alive with the pitter patter of feet, the sounds of children playing, giggling, dancing, and singing. They'll discover their strength, confidence, creativity, independence, resilience, and compassion and understanding for themselves and others. They will make lifelong friendships that will transform the way they view themselves in the world.

All because they found themselves in this safe, magical place that couldn't wait to witness their wishes of love, laughter, hope, and healing come true.

Campers... we are ready for you! 🤩🥰

10 years ago, the trauma of my mother's spontaneous ruptured brain aneurysm turned my world upside down, ripped it to shreds, and spit me out. And as I crawled my way out of the trenches deep diving into every healing modality I could find to help heal her, I found healing for myself and also realized I could teach what I had learned along the way. So much gratitude to all my teachers (too numerous to count) and my enormous tribe around the world who walk alongside me in this journey of life so that I can also light the way for others to find their way back home.

For many months, we've been working on my mom's connection -- to herself, her family, nature, her mind, her body, and her heart. This past week, I witnessed my mom teaching her grandbabies how to cook some of their favorite dishes of hers. I also watched her eyes light up with joy and stay in perfect alignment without double vision for hours. TEN years after her injury.

The human body, especially the brain, is a fascinating thing, and we know so very little about what it's capable of. And that gives me so much hope. Because with that hope comes possibility. Possibility that life could be better, life could be different, less painful, less difficult, calmer, more peaceful. And with that hope and possibility, comes wholeness and healing, whatever that may be. And with healing comes JOY 💕

Thank you to highlight reel podcast episode for reminding me how far we've come. Happy to report she still hasn't lost that rhythm in her soul... and it makes my heart beat with joy 💖

Thanksgiving PSA for my fellow squash lovers 📢

Some people may develop an allergy to raw butternut squash skin with repeated exposure. This can lead to "squash hands" (allergic contact dermatitis) and symptoms like redness, peeling, tightness, itching, and burning.

Swipe left for some visuals.

The good news? Gloves and pre-cut squash can save the day!

And though it may irritate the skin upon contact for some people (myself included), it's actually packed with antioxidants and nutrients, like Vitamin C and fiber, that support skin and gut health. Stay tuned for one of my favorite ways to enjoy butternut squash this season!
