Most people think lifting belts are for people who lift more than they do.

But belts aren’t just for elite athletes shooting for a PR. They are for any person trying to intentionally build strength.

Belts are just as advantageous to the weightlifting athletes as they are to the busy parent squeezing strength sets in between daycare drop offs and after school activities. When your time is short, making the most out of what you have matters.

Belts help with just that.

A belt can help create more spinal stiffness, improve stability, and make heavy lifting more efficient.

Learn to brace. Then use the belt with intention.

You deserve care that gives results. You deserve hands on treatments that make you feel better, and exercises that keep it that way.

Because when you get care that keeps that baby in your arms a little longer, and comes alongside you to get stronger-that’s where the magic happens.

The gang’s all back together 🤍

There’s something special about honoring those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom alongside your community. Murph is always hard, but getting to do it together is the best part.

Grateful for the people beside us, the freedom to move our bodies, and the men and women who made it all possible. 🇺🇸

Wait, I can exercise before 6wks postpartum?

Everyone’s postpartum return to movement journey is going to look different. We are healing from a huge life event, working on less sleep, and trying to eat enough calories for recovery and establishing milk supply all while adjusting to keeping a tiny human alive. Some people won’t feel comfortable for a while, maybe even months after baby, to start getting back to what they were doing pre baby, while others will be itching for a green light before the 6wk mark. As someone who was very physically active throughout pregnancy, was doing a CrossFit workout 2 days before he arrived, and whose mental health is very linked to movement, I knew I wanted to get back to the gym in some capacity relatively quickly. At three weeks postpartum these are the movements I’ve been focusing on to reconnect with my core and pelvic floor as well as build strength and resilience in movements I am already doing as a mom (HELLO standing up from my bed while holding him or setting him down in the bassinet or carrier).

I have been closely monitoring my bleeding/ spotting and watching for pelvic floor symptoms during daily activities and while performing these movements to know if my body is ready to progress. If you are looking for more guidance on how to get back to exercise, whether you’re at 2wks or 2yrs PP, we would love to help you feel and move better in this new chapter as a parent!

An internal exam isn’t mandatory, ever. But it does give us a lot of information.

It goes beyond more than assessing just the pelvic floor itself. We’re also getting an idea of overall coordination, pressure management, awareness, and tension holding patterns.

We can assess these things externally, because not everyone wants to do an internal exam. AND also we can appreciate how much the internal exam can guide us.

No matter where you are in your pelvic health journey, we are happy to meet you there. Knowledge of your body is something you deserve, and here we are all about education and empowerment 🤍
