Herniated disc? Here’s what’s actually going on 👇
Between each vertebra sits a disc — a tough outer ring with a soft, gel-like center. It’s your spine’s shock absorber.
A herniation happens when that gel pushes through a tear in the outer ring. It’s most common in the neck and low back, the parts of your spine that move and carry the most load.
Why does it hurt so much?
⚡ The bulge presses on the nerve right next to it
🔥 The disc material inflames the area
➡️ Pain travels: neck → shoulder, arm & hand / low back → hip, leg & foot (sciatica)
How we treat it at Sync Chiropractic & Rehab:
✅ Chiropractic care to restore motion and take stress off the injured level
✅ Spinal decompression to take pressure off the disc and nerve
✅ Shockwave therapy to calm nerve pain and kickstart healing
✅ PEMF therapy to target inflammation and support recovery
✅ Rehab to rebuild strength so it doesn’t come back
Most disc herniations improve with the right conservative care — no surgery needed. 🙌
