Our strength is found in our collective gifts. šŸ•Šļø

We believe that each one of us is given a manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. This isn’t just a phrase—it is at the absolute heart of our identity and culture.

Whether it’s a clinical breakthrough, a comforting conversation at a bedside or a behind-the-scenes act of kindness, every person brings a unique gift to our mission. When we share those gifts, we don’t just provide healthcare; we provide healing.

Who at St. Luke’s Health inspires you with their dedication and heart? Tag a colleague in the comments and share a story of how they use their gifts to serve our patients and community. Let’s celebrate the people who make us who we are!

Ray Burgess lived with Type 2 diabetes for 20 years, feeling fine—until he didn't. Like many, Ray didn't realize that uncontrolled blood sugar could lead to silent issues like metabolic neuropathy, where you lose the protective sensation in your feet.

After a foot infection led to the amputation of a toe, Ray knew he needed a change. When a second, severe infection appeared on his heel, the multidisciplinary team at St. Luke’s Health – The Woodlands Hospital stepped in.

Through a combination of minimally invasive vascular procedures by Dr. David Kuten and advanced muscle flap reconstruction by podiatrist Dr. Efthymios Gkotsoulias, Ray was able to heal completely in just six weeks.

Diabetes care requires a team effort. Don’t wait for a sign—take charge of your health today.

Are you dealing with the recurring pain of gallstones? 🩺 Many patients wonder if they can simply have the stones removed, but Dr. Molly E. Russo, a fellowship-trained hepatobiliary surgeon, explains why that isn't the best path to long-term relief.

ā€œThe stones are a symptom of the gallbladder’s dysfunction. We address the source of the problem, which is the organ itself.ā€

Learn more about why gallbladder removal is often the most effective solution for restoring your quality of life and how modern surgery makes recovery easier than ever.

The countdown is ON! As St. Luke's Health prepares to officially become CommonSpirit Health on October 6, our Brand Ambassadors are rounding with Culture Carts in all hospital departments to make sure everyone feels informed, included and ready for the big day.

Our teddy bears 🧸have been a huge hit, along with sharpies, hand sanitizer and cards that grow into wildflowers 🌻when planted. But culture cart rounding is about more than just the goodies.

Our Brand Ambassadors are deeply integrated in our hospitals—from nursing and pharmacy to admin and support services—and they're there to answer team member questions about our brand launch, listen to feedback, and make sure we’re all moving into this next chapter together.

We’re so grateful for the energy they’re bringing to this transition, and we love to see them championing the message that we’re all in this together.

There is something truly powerful about coming together to serve those in need.

Last Friday, our nursing team stepped away for our FY27 strategic planning session hosted at the Montgomery County Food Bank. Combining our planning with a hands-on opportunity to pack almost 4,000 meals reminded us of the "why" behind our work.

It was a beautiful day of fellowship, allowing us to strengthen our relationships as a team while serving our neighbors. We are starting this week feeling deeply inspired, refreshed and reminded of our commitment to furthering the common good in the communities we serve.
