When my son was born, for the first couple of months around 1pm-4pm every day he would be super fussy - something I didn’t experience with my first! He was fully fed whenever he wanted, dry and changed, a comfortable temp, didn’t seem uncomfortable... all the obvious things but he wouldn’t settle to sleep and would just cry. I texted my midwife (shout out to Sarah - Wild River Midwifery) - “What am I missing? Is this a witching hour…?” She encouraged me to go as low stimulation as possible for him and that it was likely a time when he was most overstimulated, or his “witching hour”. So that’s what I did and while this was still his most predictable fussy time, offering connection and low stimulation helped so much - and me mentally, too! Here’s a list of my fav things that helped me and my little guy (and so many of our clients, too!) move through that period during his early months - these are all nervous system supportive and what so many of us and our babies need! Peep my little guy snuggled up in his carrier. 🥹 🫶🏼 - Brittany
