The Center for Music Therapy and Wellness, located at Drury University, is an on-campus music therapy clinic that was founded in 2002 as a private practice and student training facility. Each week, our therapists provide music therapy services to around 300 clients in the Ozarks. That’s over 15,000 people a year and over 370,000 since our beginning! Our clinic has had two different on-campus locations, our current one being in Springfield Hall. We are thankful for our clients, the many therapists and staff members that have shaped our practice, our partnership with Drury, and YOU–the community in the Ozarks who keeps cheering us on in what we do! Thank you for your continued support!

The American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) is a non-profit organization who works to “advance public awareness of the benefits of music therapy and increase access to quality music therapy services in a rapidly changing world.” AMTA is a wonderful resource for the public, but also to music therapists working in the field, offering access to research, conferences, and other professional growth services. Looking for a music therapist near you? Want to learn more about music therapy? Interested in a career in music therapy, check out AMTA at https://bit.ly/4dTA3gJ!

The third week of September is dedicated to honor therapists providing rehabilitation services and the resilient patients who receive these services. Did you know that music therapists provide rehabilitative treatment? Either working independently or through co-treatment, music therapists use music as a tool to help people improve their sensorimotor, speech, and cognitive skills. Thank your therapists below––whether that be a music therapist, a speech therapist, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist or some other healthcare professional who has helped you reach your goals!

An "oldie" but a "goodie"! ☺️ Watch former Drury University student music therapist, Logan, lead our Parkinson's music therapy group in some great exercise! We miss our former students and several clients in this video who have passed away. We are thankful for these videos that capture great memories. ❤️
