Shirts in honor of Coach Mike Mike Suhadolnik

Longevity participant and friend of Coach Mike designed “The WODfather” shirt, featuring a great photo of Coach Mike’s signature smile on the front. The back is filled with some of Coach Mike’s most legendary one-liners and punchlines, lovingly collected over the years by our Longevity crew. If you ever had the privilege of being coached by Mike, there’s a good chance you’ll recognize more than a few of them.

Coach Molly, Mike’s daughter, created two additional designs that hold special meaning.

The first features Coach Mike’s beloved Airdyne bike. If you ever spent time with him at the gym, chances are you found yourself “assigned” to that bike at some point, and probably didn’t enjoy it in the moment! If he wasn’t reaching for a barbell, the Airdyne was his favorite training tool. Mike himself rode it every single day. Molly even remembers being just a little girl, spending Saturday mornings at the gym while her dad pedaled away on that bike.

The second design features a clenched fist with a gold tooth on the knuckle. It represents one of Coach Mike’s most infamous stories. Back in his construction days, someone decided to talk a little too much trash, and it ended in a fistfight. According to Mike, when he punched the man, the man’s gold tooth became lodged so deeply in his knuckle that he couldn’t get it out—and it stayed there for the rest of his life. His family always thought it was just one of Mike’s tall tales until years later, when an MRI confirmed there really was a tooth in his hand! The doctors and nurses couldn’t believe it, and from then on he was permanently unable to have MRIs. Whether you heard the story once or a dozen times, it perfectly captured Coach Mike’s tough, no-nonsense personality.

On the back of both of Molly’s shirts is the phrase “You’ll Be Alright.” It was something Coach Mike would say to his daughters whenever they came to him with a problem. It was simple, tough, reassuring, and unmistakably him. Molly felt it was the perfect message to carry with us as we remember him.

In memory of our beloved Coach Mike Suhadolnik, a coach to so many and a true leader in our community, we’ve created a collection of commemorative t-shirts to celebrate the incredible legacy he leaves behind.

Len designed “The WODfather” shirt, featuring a great photo of Coach Mike’s signature smile on the front. The back is filled with some of Coach Mike’s most legendary one-liners and punchlines, lovingly collected over the years by our Longevity crew. We’ve priced these shirts as affordably as possible so that anyone who wants to honor Coach Mike’s memory can hopefully pick up one, or even two. We can’t wait to see these shirts being worn around town, at the gym, and everywhere Coach Mike’s spirit continues to inspire others.

Thank you for helping us celebrate a man who impacted so many lives. We know he’d probably just smile, wink, and tell us all, “You’ll be alright.”

It is with a heavy heart to let you know class Wednesday at 9am will be cancelled as we are having a tree planted in Washington Park in memory of Coach Mike, Coach Molly’s father and Coach Tim’s father in law.

Coach Mike saw potential in everyone, and he would make sure you knew it. He would push you to a new level of fitness, while giving you the confidence to do so. He was bold, strong and loud, yet gentle and always smiling.

He left a huge legacy and he will never be forgotten. Please feel free to join us Wednesday morning to plant a tree in his honor. Washington Park was one of his favorite places in town, we are happy to know a tree will be growing there for him.

Rest in peace, Coach Mike.

Lorna, 67, has been with us for 4 years, and Craig, 69, for 3.5 years.

Lorna has lost 40 pounds, and she says, “More importantly, I’ve kept it off! I’ve had two knee replacements, and there’s no good excuse not to come in. I’ve belonged to almost every gym, but I came here once and never quit.”

Craig was inspired by what Lorna was achieving, so he started coming, too. His biggest changes came from his daily commitment to improved nutrition and regular exercise, and the results speak for themselves.

Craig says, “It’s never too late! To start at this age and see these results is really encouraging. It really works!”

It’s such a joy to celebrate these major wins with our clients. If you’ve been thinking about trying us out, we’d love to show you around and have you join us for a workout. Contact us today! Call or text 217-414-8260 📲
